Stance meters and new careers

By valvorik, in WFRP Rules Questions

When you transition to a new career, do you keep the stance meter from last one and add pieces of new one, plus any stance pieces you purchased with advances?

or

Do you always use your current careers basic meter, plus stance pieces purchased with advances?

I think it's the 2nd but want to be sure.

Thanks, Rob

I believe the way it works is you take the stance meter of you new career and then add on any purchase stances.

Example, you orignal stance meter was 3/1 C/R and you purchsed 1 C stance in the career so you have a 4/1. The next career yo uswtich two is a 2/2 meter. So you would be at 3/2.

Thanks, that was my thought too.

Rob

Your 2nd take on the rule is correct.

When you leave a career, you loose the base track that you had, but keep any pieces you have purchased. When you enter a new career, you simply add the new base track to whatever pieces you still posses. Both your 2nd idea and the other example posted are correct.
