SCUM droids

By Burius1981, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Played the pilots twice last night, tweaked the list to this:

ALGEBRA

Lando: Trick Shot, 0-0-0, IG88-D, title

IG88-A: Crackshot, FCS, title

4-LOM: Trick Shot, Adv Sensors, Qi'ra

199

IG88-A (Alpha) is the muscle, it goes in gets a Lock and tries to hound the same target until death. Lando back it up by passing Calc tokens on the turn Alpha Locks and also subsequent turns when Alpha is going to take a lot of fire. I'm not 100% sold on Crackshot, but there isn't much else at 2 points or less that I would want to put on any of the ships. Maybe Baffle on Alpha, but that is more situational than Crackshot.

Lando can put out low consistent damage from range which can get better when enemy ships stress themselves or come in close to Lando where 0-0-0 gives them a bad choice.

4-LOM looks for an opportunity to get in close to something to hand it stress at the end of the round. He can also take a Lock or Jam with Adv Sensors and then perform a red maneuver to get a free Calculate. Both Alpha and Lando can pass him Calculates if he is going to take a lot of heat. Qi'ra is on board to allow cheeky moves through/on to obstacles through Adv Sensors - Lock in order to attempt to gain position or disengage.

How do you lock on a obstacle via Qira? I don't understand her ability

You can lock any object with in range (range 0-3, touching to end of range ruler) now as outlined on page 12 of the Rules Reference.

Online third party reference (has same exact wording): http://infinitearenas.com/xw2rules/index.php?page=lock

Why buy the Lando's Title card and not buy the escape pod? Or am I missing something?

So the second half of the title lets you add a red die when attacking a ship that is stressed. 0-0-0 can give stress, 4-LOM will hand off stress, k-turns, talon rolls, and s-loops are pretty common, and if there are any enemy ships that want to take a red action they are giving Lando a bonus attack die if they do.

After a couple more matches I think 4-LOM would be better off either with just Adv Sensors or Elusive+Adv Sensors. I didn't consider that if I lock an obstacle with 4-LOM/Qi'ra then I wouldn't get the trick shot bonus until I put it on the table, so TS is kind of wasted. Also I blatantly ignored the rocks and went straight in getting 4-LOM killed way too fast.

It's just a fun tricksy list. Once ships start to go down it falls apart because it's relying on synergy too much I think.
