I am wondering about Jake Farrell and his abilities.

He seems to be able to perform 3 actions per round like this: white barrel roll, white focus (due to pilot ability), red boost (due to ship ability)

My question: Would it be possible in another order, too?

White barrel roll, red boost (due to ship ability) and the a focus after that due to his pilot abilty? My guess would be no, because he has already gotten a stress marker while performing the red boost. So he can't perform any further actions.

But maybe it's possible? I remember that there was a possibilty in XWing 1.0 ... don't exactly know how this worked, but people could use Push the Limit and do another action first, before the PTL stress came into play.

No. The action nesting thing from 1e is no more.

Jake is specifically an example in the Rules Reference, and this is exactly what they say you can't do.

personally i think they worded the jake example pretty badly.
