Conversion to 2.0 rules etc

By FERRUSLUPUS, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hopefully this is in right area but I want to get clarification in “Dummies guide to..” simplicity for the change over from 1.0 to 2.0.

i have a huge rebel and scum collection (2or more of almost every ship) now the with 2.0 release I picked up the conversion set and as I started going thru things got confusing.

1: obviously the new equipment and upgrades cards are the only legal ones for 2.0 correct?

2: as I went thru ship cards there were a large number it seems of 1.0 ships and pilots without 2.0 cards. Are those without cards do we use the 1.0 cards for them or have to wait for the rerelease of those ships and buy more duplicates to get the needed new cards?

3: related to 2 above. Tell me if I am wrong but it looks like everything in conversion sets are: replacing all old upgrades period as in don’t use anything 1.0 or is it just replace same named upgrades? For ships/pilots replaces any cards with same names from 1.0.

4: core set 2.0. To play what exactly is needed out of this. New tokens and damage deck? Movement sticks? Or can use old sticks (I have fancy acrylic) and damage deck?

sorry long winded but searching and scanning forums I haven’t been able to find a good brain dead simple explanation of what I need to do to go straight over from 1.0 to 2.0 to be tournament legal tomorrow if I wanted.

thanks for all the help.

To answer it all as simply as possible, leaving some details out:

Put everything -except- the models, bases, and pegs from 1.0 in a box. Put that box in the closet, and you’re good to go.

Example: conversion kit has the pup from houndstooth but no houndstooth. Therefore I can’t use houndstooth it till new cards come out you are saying? That is the biggest rub issue.. all the extra ships without cards yet in conversion sets

The conversion kit should have Houndstooth.

It did not. Just the pup. No fire sprays except for new Boba Fett card either just as examples and why I am confused and asking.

Did you open all 4 packs of cards in the Conversion kit? It should have also come with a list of all the contents.

Dig thru main scum pack and 2 upgrade sets just finding name shop upgrade cards not the specific ship cards like the 666 ship or such

So you do have the Title cards? Or is it the Pilot cards missing?

Pilot cards it looks like. Looks like only have half the number of options as have in 1.0 which threw me confused.

Examples: firespray in 1.0 5 variant in 2.0 conversion pack 1 version

yv666 in 1.0 4 variants in 2.0 conversion pack 0 variant

Double check with the content list that comes in the Conversion Kit. If you are missing something from there, contact FFG.

For the English language version (and I would assume other language versions) of the Scum and Villainy conversion kit you should have the following Pilots for the YV-666:

  • Bossk
  • Latts Razzi
  • Moralo Eval
  • Trandoshan Slaver

You should also have the following Title upgrade for the YV-666:

  • Hound's Tooth

If you are missing those 5 cards, follow what Innese said and contact FFG.

When I get a chance will break down every card and see. Hope you are correct. When I opened up it looked like one card pack was all pilot cards and serious missing those variant among others. Had me freaked out and looking for aid to make sure I am not so lost or having to buy another 30 ships

The packs of cards are not divided exactly into the various types. The cards you need will be in one of the other packs.

4a. There is a new damage deck. You will need it. The old damage deck cannot be used.

4b. You "need" the new maneuver templates. When Barrel Rolling, Decloaking, or performing Tallon Rolls, you'll need the lines in the middle of the templates. For every other maneuver or boosting, you'll be fine. However, unlike a damage deck, these can probably be borrowed from an opponent who has them.

There are also some pilots from 1.0 that were not made in 2.0. You can not use the 1.0 pilots in 2.0. This also applies to upgrades as well. There are lots of changes to pilots and upgrades so all of the 2.0 must be used.
