House rule - Slower advancement

By E.X.A.-Puggy, in Rogue Trader House Rules

My game master has implamented a rule in wich the charicter does not advance so quickly.

Basicly all he does is elimiate the exp points spent towards stat advances applying to your exp spent total

So say you start with 45 willpower and spend the points to advance it (Whatever role you are playing) those points spent do not apply to your charicter's advancement.

One thing for your GM to look at before implementing this is how much XP worth of advances there are in any given rank - for example, a starting Rogue Trader needs to gain and spend 2,000 XP (starting at 5,000xp, needing to reach 7,000xp) in order to move into Rank 2. Of the advances in the Rogue Trader Rank 1 table, there are only 1,200xp worth of advances that the character is actually able to purchase (all the others are ones he already possesses, which are there for the sake of completeness and forward-compatibility), which means that, per this house rule, the character is incapable of advancing to Rank 2...

Without the benefit of Elite Advances... Let's not forget those. But, yeah, seems a bit premature.

The XP flows at an average of 500 Per game session (More if you are heroic and / or learned something. Less if you die / Get an NPC or player killed), Yes we do have elite advances. All in all i think the rule is OK but again i just picked up the game about 3 months ago.

But thank you for your input it's greatly appreciated.
