Clarification on Rest & Recovery Rules for a Newbie

By Krusader, in WFRP Rules Questions

Hey all,

Sorry if this has been asked in the past, my search-fu has failed me.

I am bringing a group of plyers together who have never played WFRP, for that matter neither have I, and as I am going to be the GM, I really want to make sure I understand things.

The problem I am having is with the Rest & Recovery rules.

When making a Resilience check, what stats do players use? I assume it would be toughness but I as I am not 100% on it I thought I'd ask.

Cheers,

Krusader.

D'oh!

I have found the answer... I decided to flip through the rules looking for "Resilience". Please for give this noob lengua.gif

If a mod could close this topic(?) that would be great!

Just remeber the general rule for all skill checks, when you look at the skill in question it will have an associated characteristic, i.e. Strength, Toughness, Agility... Once you find the skill, and the appropriate associated characteristic, you assemble the dice pool. As a GM you are free to chage the associated characteristics when appropriate. If a character is trying to search through a room filed with gore and offal, you may decide that an observation check is needed, but instead of intelligence as the associated characteristic you decide a willpower would be better as finding whatever they are looking for is more dependant on being able to not freak out, or start yaking while wading through all the gore and nasty.

So default, look right next to the skill, it should say right on the character sheet, for advance skills write it down as it is in the book, in fact all the skills are writting in the book and it says what characteristic to use right there.

You as the GM have the power to use whatever skill/characteristic combonation you feel is best.
