Mandalorian Super Commando and Hidden Blaster

I have a question regarding the interaction of these two cards:

If I use the commando's power action to give it this blaster, which happens first: the shield removal from the blaster or the 1 damage from the commando? When targeting a character with exactly 1 shield, this could make a difference.

My thought is that the shield removal happens first, because everything on the blaster card takes place as part of the first sentence in the commando's power action. Then, the second sentence of the power action (the 1 damage) happens.

I am pretty sure the damage is first. You use the Mando's power action, so his "Then" affect is added into the queue. Then you play the Hidden Blaster on the Mando, and its "After" affect is added into the queue. But you have to do the Mando's "Then" affect, before you can do the Hidden Blaster's "After" affect, since it was added to the queue first.

It would be nice to know for curtain tho.

In looking through the Rules Reference document , I think you're right. In the section on After Abilities on page 18, it says "If the trigger condition of an after ability was part of another ability, that entire ability is completed before the new after ability resolves." Since Power Actions are described as a type of Action Ability on the previous page, that means that the entire Power Action from the Commando should resolve before using the After ability on the blaster.

Ya, I was pretty sure that is what the Rules Rference document said, but I didn't know how to get the the document. So thanks for the link.

Fromper is correct. Effects enter the queue whole...you fully resolve the current effect before moving on to the next. In this case, the queue sequence looks like this:

Power Action (play card, then...):

Play Hidden Blaster...After effect enters queue , but Power Action still has parts to resolve. Note Ambush action does not enter the queue, but waits for the current queue to resolve before it can be taken.

Deal 1 damage

After effect from Hidden Blaster...remove a shield.

Razell ha the correct order, except the Then is not a separate effect. It's part of the Power Action, and takes up the same slot in the queue as the first part of the effect. It's just that the card tells you the sequence in which they get resolved.

That makes sense. Thanks for letting me know.
