Boba Fett and scout troopers

You know... Tauntauns are basically meat AT-RTs...

No. AT-RT's are steel tauntauns. I'm really hoping that whatever they are, tauntauns don't take up the same slot as AT-RT's so I can totally max out the mounted madness.

How are they gonna spec them so they're not duplicative and worse?

Don't care. All stats aside I will buy the maximum number allowed in the force org chart. If they are corps I will buy 6. If not I will buy 3. I am also hoping for a tauntaun-mounted commander of some kind. Luke, Han, Derlin, or (preferably) a supernumerary officer.

As for ewoks, I don't really have things I want to see "sooner" or "later" than one thing or another. There's specific stuff from the SW universe that is on my buy list, and everything else does not exist as far as I'm concerned. I want ewoks but only if I can make an army of them. This is the same as how I feel about tusken raiders.

What specialists? We have every announcement for everything that is coming out by the end of this year.

The personnel expansions. There hasn't been any announcement article for them yet, just pictures shown at some con and I think on Twitter.

Tauntaun cav should come in pairs or a unit of 3. Armed with blasters, fast, counts as a trooper unit.

Scout definitely seems like a good option, as they are scout units. I would say Scout 2 or maybe 3.

All vehicles so far have white defense with either Armor or a defensive ability (Cover 1 on speeder bikes). So white defense with surge and nimble would be reasonable, but I also think just a red defense with no surge and no ability is comparable.

I was originally thinking Speed 3, but I don't think they should be as fast as speeder bikes or the T-47. Maybe Speed 2 with Steady?

Also, I suggested the A-300 (the Rifle used by the AT-RT pilot) because it gets two dice: WW. However, I do think an A-300 Carbine could be interesting, maybe Range 2 with BW or even BB. Maybe crit surge so they can actually slightly threaten armor?

Speed 3 without compulsory move makes them faster than troops on foot, but slower than a max speed bike or T-47.

Crit surge would be ace tho!

I see this topic has deviated towards Tauntauns and Ewoks...

whelp...

IMO, Tauntauns should have a unit size of 2, 4 health, Red Defence Die with no surge, Scout 2 and Unhindered.

The weapons for the Tauntauns should be a Melee of 1 black and 1 white dice called "Tauntaun Claw" and a 1-2 ranged 2 black dice weapon similar to the Scouttrooper's pistols.

Upgrades should be Comms and Gear/Equipment.

No clue on Ewoks, other than that their base unit size should be 6. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Can't blame me! I posted about using scout troopers as bounty hunters. Now I'm just riding the wave.

In ye olde canon, Hoth rebels were specifically noted for carrying heavier blaster rifles than normal. Even loners on tauntauns. I'd rather they stick with that idea.

On the AT-RT, the A-300 Blaster Rifle rolls 2 White Dice.

Maybe the Rifle used by the Tauntaun Riders should roll 2 Black at the same range, possibly adding Impact 1?

Red defense dice?

I can see upping the health, but not giving red dice.

I'd say white dice with surge to Defense

I’d field an army of Tusken Raiders! Let’s hope the game goes that far with the expansions.

Amazon says in stock on October 4. This seems like it will be the date they actually come out. It’ll be a nice surprise if it’s earlier

Tbh I'm a bit mad that they promoted boba and scout release in august and by mid september we still don't have any information on the units or their release...

This is pretty unprofessional for such a big company

Yeah same, enough of excuses. There’s the Disney thing sure. But, why would they not have it all planned out prehand. I think they should start taking names...lol Time to make some cuts

We alll want to spend the money so what’s the delay lol... this is not how businesses make money

The stuff is announced so far into the future it's hard to even keep track of what's out, what's coming soon, and what's being released before or after the other. To me, for Legion, nothing exists until I buy one in a brick and mortar store. I thought artillery was coming sooner than all this stuff but I guess I got mixed up.

This is kinda the opposite of the GW model for announcements. GW tells you something is coming out basically by dropping it in your lap and shouting "Surprise!". Whereas FFG says "Coming this year... or very early next year maybe..." about umpteen products at once.

"Counts as a Trooper unit is kind of weird," since they are as similar to Troopers as Speeder Bikes are. Also, all they would have to do is give them the Trooper keyword. They wouldn't need a special rule or anything.

Trooper keyword yes. But it's a lot easier for them to "hold" something than it would be for a speeder bike whizzing by. Hence the troop designation. Also so that we can field all-tauntaun armies someday!

I would actually love to see some sucky vehicle that is corps and troops and some sort of pilot card that is a commander, so that people can field all-mechanized armies. Might suck in tournaments but it'd be cool. One imagines the crew of some small vehicle dismounting to grab the objective and strap it to the back of their atv's or whatnot.

When are we getting Boba and Scouts again?

Soon. My FFG preorder of Boba said last week it was shipping "soon" and the Scout Troopers article today says "late" third Q for them, so end of this month, or early Oct for them, probably

Kinda this. I wants me some Jawas... And by extention when they do get around to making the AT-AT, I really want a Jawa Sand Crawler...;-) Being a bit silly but only a bit...

This game is on the path to taking over my collector budget. With The Wizards of the Coast miniature game I made all kinds of off beat squads/armies; Jawas, Ewoks, Tuskens, droids, and even Gungans.

Back to Jawas, the one for Imperial Assault looks to be in scale with Legion. I’d have to find one and double check. You could use them for objectives or terrain, LOL.

I'm really just getting into legion now... But sweet. I'll check it out.

@Obvious_Ninja. This is the Jawa I mentioned earlier.

Jawas are kind of forgiving when it comes to scale. Plus the smaller IA base size makes sense of them in Legion. They'd presumably have a smaller area of control, slower move since the base size is part of your move in Legion, etc.

Trouble for me is, anything less than like a dozen jawas seems weird. And the IA ones are too expensive for drafting in such numbers. Due to packaging oddities the old metal ones were hard to collect in squad-size numbers too. It's lonely being a tabletop jawa I guess. I did collect a large number for D20 but I don't think they'd even have approached a game sized army without drafting a bunch of blaster-toting droids.

They would be basically a cross between speeder bikes and the AT-RT. Multi-unit squad, high speed, no armor obviously but with red defense, I'd probably give them unhindered.

The weapons are indeed the biggest question. I like the idea of Arsenal with a good melee attack, possibly with A-300 rifles, though that might be too similar to the AT-RT.

Dodge? Additional Attack? Ignore some terrain?
