5*3 attack. Will it be any good in 2.0 when you dont have FAA on the x-wings?
4 x x-wings and zeb attack shuttle?
Problem is it's just straight up worse than the Jonus bomber list with rockets, but otherwise it's pretty efficient

Which one is that?
Someone maybe able to link something but I think the idea is something like this (16 points for upgrades still to spend):
| Captain Jonus — TIE Bomber | 36 |
| Saturation Salvo | 6 |
| Barrage Rockets | 6 |
| Ship Total: 48 | |
| Scimitar Squadron Pilot — TIE Bomber | 28 |
| Barrage Rockets | 6 |
| Ship Total: 34 | |
| Scimitar Squadron Pilot — TIE Bomber | 28 |
| Barrage Rockets | 6 |
| Ship Total: 34 | |
| Scimitar Squadron Pilot — TIE Bomber | 28 |
| Barrage Rockets | 6 |
| Ship Total: 34 | |
| Scimitar Squadron Pilot — TIE Bomber | 28 |
| Barrage Rockets | 6 |
| Ship Total: 34 | |
Jonus re-rolls + focus based attack gives fully modified shots. Saturation Salvo makes defending more difficult. Additional points could be used for bombs or moving to named pilots (possibly another saturation salvo on a named pilot).
Well, the bombers are definitely more efficient. However, they have a much more obvious first target. Once Jonus is gone, than they bombers are significantly weaker. And the bombers can't spend the focus for defense, or they lose their firepower. So, there is some trade-off to that effieciency.

That's going to come down to init. Every focus token an Xwing with init forces a tie bomber to spend is a triple threat- no focus, no Barrage rocket, no Jonus rerolls.
I actually think, in a straight joust, you might want to consider the unthinkable- splitting fire to strip as many focus as possible. (of course, if they DONT spend a focus on defense, pile on more damage on that ship. but as soon as they spend a defensive focus, swap targets)
Edit: and of course if the bombers have init, it's range 1 time- too close for missiles, switching to guns, even if they have to close Sfoils for it.

Not just you. My friends and I are talking our brains to come up with good squads that can go toe to toe with some of the big Imperial contenders, and we're just not sure what you could bring. In my opinion, 4 X-wings should be able to do some work, but I'm not sure if a loadout.
What I was looking for when I read your post was some kind of support ship that could give the X-wings tricks against the swarm. I'm still looking.

Please tell me if you ever find it. I would like to have answer to that as well. I look at the other factions, and just cant figure out what they want rebels to be right now.
And Jonus and company doesn't even look like the strongest list I've because bombers only have agility 2 and look like they'll have trouble against aces and arc dodgers.
The 6 TIE Ace swarm is what scares me the most.

Drop Saturation Salvo on Jonus. This will give you 22 points. This is enough for either 4 Proton Bombs or 3 Proton Bombs and 2 Seismic Charges on your Bombers
