With over 60 expansions coming(wave 1 reworks + new factions) for 2.0 and a release schedual for the next full year we havent heard a word... so whats up with epic?

Did 2.0 kill epic entirely, or are epic players supposed to wait a few years for components? Anyone else wondering whats up with the best X-wing format?

They said they haven't forgotten it, but it seems like they have a lot going on with 2.0 already, so it will come later. How much later we can only guess.

2.0 isn’t even out yet. There has barely been anything formally announced for it yet.

I am a little concerned for epic with the anouncement of the Clone Wars factions, actually. Fleshing them out will take up a lot of the release schedule. Add in the re-releases, and there's not much room for an epic relaunch. Still, with the initial release still a few days a way, it's a bit early for panic.

I'm guessing we'll need to wait a year or two. Too much regular stuff to rerelase. I'll keep playing 1.0 team epic until then. In epic the imbalances of 1.0 don't matter that much. For standard 2.0 all the way

The info hasn't changed since the last time you complained about it. They're working on it, it will take some time, the relaunch of the real game (aka, the only mode anybody ever played) takes priority. Hopefully they'll do something interesting with it as 1.0 epic was just a way of charging a ton of money for standard play ship fixes.

Seems like a good homebrew conversion opportunity.

Epic doesn't get a lot of action but a decent homebrew conversion I would definitely try out.

Epic isn’t dead (yet).

It will be a long time before we know more I suspect.

Who cares about epic now that the Executor is coming to Armada?

As if. The community has known about 2.0 for 4 months. Players voluntarily refuse to play 1.0 because they have the luxury of knowing about 2.0.

I'd be more sympathetic if you and Vont did something other than complain in every thread about how terrible 2.0 is. Epic is coming, and with any luck it will be a playable game format. Nobody played 1.0 epic because the epic ships weren't worth the points and the games lasted too long. Have some patience and realize that you are very much in the minority.

Patience is key. I love epic play. I love the standard play. We have wave 1 coming out Thursday and if you buy the conversion kits, you have wave 1 and half completed waves 2-14 for Scum, Empire, and Rebels only. I never expected Epic to be supported in WAVE ONE, so hopefully once we're a few waves in, we'll get our Epic ships shifted over. Until then, we still have our current style of Epic play. We know Epic 2.0 is coming, hang in there... or don't. Whatever floats your boat.

The problem is no one has set fire to any of your epic stuff.... you still have it you can still play it. If you want a 2.0 upgrade for it you have to wait.

So all the complaints in this thread are just annoying.

Both you Darth Meanie and Vontoothskie have been constantly complaining about 2.0.... then when something is not included in 2.0 yet you complain about that. Should you not be happy that something you like is at least so far not being converted to 2.0 right away? so you can keep playing 1.0 epic since you seem to hate 2.0 anyways?

None of which changes the fact that the game has not officially been released. The official announcements about wave 2 are not that old, and information about those factions is still super sparse, and nobody has ever suggested that epic 2.0 had any chance at all of coming out before then, and probably not till AT LEAST a few additional waves past that are out. Complaining about a lack of Epic news at this point is nothing but transparently thin, self-centered, ignorant, entitled BS.

I like Epic. Given my choice, I would prefer to play it regularly. I own 2 cr-90s, 1 official gr-75, 1 home brew gr-75 from a firefly toy, 2 Raiders, 2 gozantis, and 1 c-roc. But I am not so arrogantly naive to think that Epic will, or even should, be updated until 2.0 is fully launched and has a decently developed line of core expansions.

So quit you’re incessant whining and try to develop an actual adult attitude that not everything in the world has to cater to your whims, that there isn’t some evil conspiracy to make you, personally, unhappy, and that projects of this size can only realistically be advanced so fast, or donate several million dollars to FFG to make them do it your way.

I really, really don’t understand where this is coming from. FFG has said they are working on it. Check the 2.0 FAQ.

Epic (as in Huge ships) are mentioned in the Rules Reference. They are coming back.
