Cannot Get Your Ship Out! September Articles

By geek19, in Star Wars: Armada

Updated the Ackbar article to include the MC75 (yes!), Hammerheads (no!), and lumped the Pelta and Neb B together (maybe one of these but definitely not both!)

I also wish I had finished this update yesterday....

For what should seem like obvious reasons. Leia and Garm left, then over to fixing the Squadrons Encyclopedia.

Obvious reasons? I hear Leia's starting to make a comeback. I mean, some crazy person actually took her to Gencon… and got a very respectable 7th ?

No mention of best fish bois swm30_card_caitken-and-shollan.png @geek19 ? FOR SHAME

Obvious reasons in that i could have made a nine-nine joke, as its a continued sentence. They're the only 2 commanders i have left to make edits to. I didn't think Ackbar was so needed, but when you don't update the article since like wave 5....

No mention of my fishy bois as they're in the Weapons Team sections and the builds for those ships (or i should have them in there...). C&S are great on Assault Frigates or Assault Frigate-equivalents (AKA MC75s) under Ackbar. I just don't think it needed mentioning that they're good, haha

it helps when i read what i write INITIALLY.

Another great article.

Not worth creating a new thread with only 2 days left in October.

In short, updated the objectives articles. We're pretty much caught up, despite needing a few article updates. If anyone has recommendations for something we haven't covered yet but is helpful for new to intermediate players, I'm open to suggestions.

You objective articles are good.

If u want to take them to the next level, consider adding Vassal illustrations. For example, on CO, show how the 1st player can block any attempts at putting the Stations in the very corners of the legal area. As an example.

Do you happen to have any examples of this from your blog? I tend to run CO pretty often and it would be nice to see how that looks. Plus, I'm too lazy to do it myself, not having Vassal and all.

For you I will make a post about this, soon as able.

While he's working on his blog post, I can tell you from experience that because the station is so large, it's not difficult to place obstacles in a way that makes it impossible to get the station later deployed near the edge. The easiest way to do it is to deploy an obstacle D5 up from an opponent's edge and about D5+3ish (depending on orientation) in from the short table edges, but you can deploy it a bit further upfield if you're good with your measurement.

Is there any official ruling/FAQ that explains why you can't pick an undeployed ship as a target for Most Wanted? I remember the topic coming up during a tournament a few months ago and while I thought you can't do that I had trouble justifying why. The card doesn't say anything about picking a ship that is on the board, just a ship, period. Is there any rule that clarifies that undeployed ships do not count?

Yeah. It's all spelled out in the FAQ, comes down to the timing on the objective.

As svelok said, it's clarified in the FAQ. Page 7 under Set Aside Ships and Squadrons.
