Genuinely curious here, what do people prefer as the transport used to transport the AT-ATs? The Theta-Class AT-AT Barge or the Gozanti loaded with two At-Ats?

The Theta Barge is far better, it carries 4 AT-ATs and 4 AT-STs that are not exposed to enemy fire.

My bad I was thinking of the Y-85 Titan dropship.

I Think the barg carries 1 At-At right?

I prefer the Gozanti. The AT-ATs are more exposed to enemy fire, but the Gozanti has a much better (and more "Star Wars") design in my opinion.

The Theta Barge is just a flying block. There's really nothing interesting about its design at all.

Also allows for quick deployment, and with it being a standard issue patrol craft is likely easily on hand rather than the Empire requiring a specialized craft to deploy only one of their war machines. That said I'm a bit nostalgic for the craft due to Empire at War.

I like the gozanti for rapid or short range redeployment of small numbers.

Bulk deployment from star system to star system requires something different. Don’t like the old legends one, it’s ugly. And you can’t argue logic for its look because the AT-ATs themselves make so little sense it’s pointless to try and make their transport make sense. Rule of Cool always for Star Wars.

Honestly do the star destroyers need a dedicated lander now that they can all enter atmosphere and hover close to the ground? A dedicated hauler might be something seen more in garrisons where you don't have a star destroyer on hand.

Well as far as I know the lowest we've seen an ISD in orbit was in Rogue One, that is quite a long drop for an AT-AT and besides like with the Accalamter that means that you put your ship at range of weapons and lose the advantage of large ships with lots of guns that could perform orbital bombardments. Just imagine how well an ISD would do in atmosphere when shot by an Ion Cannon.

I skimmed it, but yea, basically don't take ISDs and other large craft down to the planet unless you need to. Especially when you have craft that can deploy troopers and heavy weaponry relatively quickly.

Depends. If I want to deploy whole forces from a star destroyer or nearby staging ground (moon or same planet), especially for combat action, I would take the Theta. If I was just shuttling a couple of walkers, especially over interplanetary distances, I would go for the gozanti.

The former always strikes me as an local assault lander, whilst the gozanti is intependant of bases or carriers.

I imagine the transport chain to be mostly like this:

Gozanti: (logistical Base) -> (operational Base) and Theta: (operational base)-> (action)
