For commanders.
What do you want to have in Clone Wars Armada?
Double post.
Edited by The JabbawookieI would love to have the clone wars enter armada however, I DO NOT WANT A NEW CORE SET! The reason for it is, another $100 dollar set maybe coming with the ships I actually want is just to much. Especially for newer players who just got the core set and then find out that they cant use the venator or acclamator without buying another core set. What I suggest would be the essentials pack that FFG used in runewars the miniatures game its only $30. It comes with the necessary equipment to play but no actual soldiers. Likewise armada could also have a faction pack, where the republic pack will come with the acclamator, consular class, and the pelta. Then have one for the CIS. You get the idea, plus they could ad the malevolence and the praetor mark 2 for the CIS and for the GAR as huge ships.

FORCE CHARGES are exactly what are needed to Make Armada Great Again.

Exactly!

I get what you're saying, but it's not like existing players will "need" to buy the new core set. Everything in the core would be available as it's own product as well. Really, the only thing you would be missing from not buying the CW core, is a few upgrades and squadrons. Plus, there are always deals on core sets if you are willing to wait. I picked up two copies of the original core for $60 each. You just need to watch for a sale.
Really, as long as all the CW ships come with GCW cardboard as well as CW cardboard, I think they would sell like crazy.

What I mean is, what if ffg desides to solve the debate about how the older ships should weaker do to age by declaring that you can only officially play with the two trilogies respectively
Maybe they will have new squadron mechanics because the clone wars space battles were so dominated by carriers. However your point is taken and I largely agree with you.

A core set would help those players who want to get into Armada, but want clone wars stuff, and not want to have to get a Victory, cr90, and Neb.
I really like the idea of an 'essentials' pack. Then people can just buy the ships they want and not be boxed into the prefab core. I would buy it just to finally get my second damage deck for not $100. I can get almost all the other bits in different packs. Plus it would be easier to convince people to buy in when they don't have to pick up models they don't want.

Wait, there Armada models that people don't want?!?
I can't think of a single model I own that I didn't want, and I have 5 VSDs!

I love all the stuff I have as well! But if I was just starting, and I only wanted to play rebels I would be all for not paying for a ship I will 'never use' we all know once we get them they will eventually buy all of it anyway?. But to get people in it might be a better way than the $100 core plus a few expansion packs before they can field a fleet.
All of it.
A Venator would be nice. And Eta-2s, thode are my favorite fighters from the saga. But I don'treally want a Clone Wars expansion, I'd prefer to see more GCW stuff.
Personally, I’d like FFG to release Republic ships for the Empire (Venator and Acclimator specifically) and modified/salvaged CIS ships (Lucrehulk, Providence, and Recursant) for the Rebellion.
From here a Clone Wars campaign box can be released with new Republic/CIS cardboard for each ship. The campaign could also come with a fighter pack to add Clone Wars era craft to the mix. Campaign restrictions would limit which vessels can be used by either side, creating a Clone Wars setting for Armada without adversely affecting existing game balance.
I also think an Essentials box would be useful and would sell well. I know I’d like extras of the base set components...
ive been saying just get some rebel/seperatist and republic/empire expansions. solve multiple problems
CIS Wavecrest Class Frigate and Rep Centax class Heavy Frigate.
I know there is pretty much no chance of either happening but I still want them
Are there so much choices of ships left for Armada in the Civil War era? Despite some more unknown and partially ugly ships. So either if you want to expand the game in a different direction you can chose the Clone Wars or the conflict with the First Order. An expansion pack like with Scum in X-Wing might be enough, dice etc. can be bought separately anyway.
Hear me out on this...
Fleet Essentials Packs, for each faction. An Essentials Pack comes with Damage Deck, Movement Tool, Range Tool, ect. Also, each Essentials Pack comes with two ships and a number of squadrons.
- Empire: VSD, Raider, 6 Tie Fighters.
This is the current imperial core set items, with a raider. I feel the raider would fit well in this, as you can use it as a sorta hammer to the anvil that is a VSD.
- Rebels: CR90, Neb-B, 3 Xwings, 1 Y wing.
Slight difference from the core set in the inclusion of a Y wing, for cinematic feel.
- Republic: Acclamator, Arquitens, 3 Torrent Fighters, 1 ARC-170
I think the Acclamator and Arquitens are a good pair for the republic essentials kit. The Acclamtor is an assault vessel, and pairing it with the Arquitens makes sense to me. Add in the Torrent fighters for some visual difference with the rebels, and a ARC-170 for limited bombing useage.
- CIS: Muunificient, 2x Gozanti, 8 Vulture Droids.
The CIS had Gozantis, and I have been trying to keep everything to max Medium ships, but I think the Muunificent would be a small. Because the CIS had mostly mass produced items, it makes sense to me that they would get a gozanti fit that was more mass produced. 8 vulture droids for the same reason.

Why?
Ships that are definitely small:
Republic frigate (charger c70 refit:) 138.55 meters
Pelta-class frigate: 282 meters
Arquitens-class light cruiser: 325 meters
Munificent-class Star Frigate: 825 meters
Acclamator assault ship: 752 meters
MC30c frigate: ~580 meters (largest current small)
Assault frigate mark II: 700 meters (smallest current medium)*
So the Munificent would be larger than an AFMK2, but on a smaller base, and the in-between Acclamator would have to be small too. Nah, it’s thoroughly into medium territory and doesn’t belong on the same base as a flotilla. Whether the Venator is large or medium, though... that’s a tough question.
Edited by The Jabbawookie*The Quasar has no canon length at present, but was previously 340 meters long.

Because I thought it was smaller than that. I am proven wrong.

No worries, fellow Nautolan. ?
