Halving points in Opening Salvo

By Bertie Wooster, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Question about the End of Game:

Quote

Each player increases his final score by half the fleet point cost of each enemy ship in the play area that has at least 1 damage card , rounded up.

This would include upgrade cards, correct? E.g., If I have a Cymoon with Vader as Commander aboard and GT, That's 162 points. So if that ship has one damage card on it by end of game, it would count as 81 points, correct?

Correct. The fleet points cost includes upgrades, unless stated otherwise (ie: Advanced Gunnery)

Interesting... Another example of old mistakes never fixed.

It makes you wonder if picking OS (as first player) with Triple Cymoons is actually a good idea.

I wouldn’t.

i mean, I’d need to balance the potential of a bonus 6 red dice versus what the enemy could slug at me in black dice, anyway...

im only considering OS in s situation where my gain of red dice is close to 2:1 to the enemy black dice potential.

Not really. I wouldn't take it in almost any situation. It doesn't change too much considering I fly almost vanilla Cymoon so not a big difference but I never considered it cause it is asking for a couple of collisions on round 6 to score.

When I agree on almost everything there is some potential with Cymoons (not Triple though). Xi7+5+2(OS)+1(CF) can prevent one enemy ship from shooting at all. Also with Spinal. Vader make blowing up HH, CR90 and Raider an average thing.

But it would be a thing for some specific Cymoon builts. And the rest of the fleet is also a thing to consider.

You see, I don’t play Imperial, so ALLLLLL of those metrics are immaterial to me ?

Think of Defiance, or Monkarren then

You’re missing my point.

My statement stands -

I won’t take a first player OS choice unless conditions are met, as above.

Without it, it’s too much a backfire, BECAUSE of the Cymoon sort of build above - you can’t just assume you’re going to reliably delete ships.
