preorder shipping outside the USA

By robert t, in X-Wing

hopeful are you, the rebellion is strong in this one, it is...

I'm just going to let it ride. No sense getting worked up about what I can't control.

Many hours ahead of sleeving and sorting before the game would be fully operational anyway.

at least the app will be available on time.?

Quebec City Free Game stores just received their expedition slips so it might be looking good for us...

Amazon UK is telling people the core set is going to be late.

Well, that's not good.

I preordered months ago through an independent website, but if Amazon are short that definitely suggests supply problems.

Interestingly, the site I used is now saying 'Out of Stock' on the core set, X-Wing, Y-Wing and any conversion kit bundle including the core set. That might mean they're getting stock in time, but in limited numbers. The expansions still available all say the 13th still for their release date. Might be that Amazon just decided to say it will be late, rather than they won't be getting sufficient stock to reach their preorder demands.

Anyone else from the UK maybe had an 'in the post' message from an independent site yet? I probably wouldn't expect those until Wednesday at the earliest, but you never know.

Well dang. I'm going to be months late to that party.

For those that are interested in Toronto, Ontario, Meeplemart has posted on facebook about having x-wing 2.0 as of yesterday.

From 401 Games Toronto (below) - so the dmg decks seem to be the only question

Quote

We have in fact received our shipments of them in today, however we are still waiting on the Alt Art Damage decks that are supposed to come in later. So hopefully when everything is completely in we will then ship out orders on Thursday which is when X-Wing 2.0 releases.

So one larger German online shop gave an update today saying they'd be able to deliver on preorders, but wouldn't receive stock beyond that. Reminds me of wave 2...

Well, my store's just posted a picture of their delivery, so it's been received and ready for Thursday. Over two hundred kilograms of second edition X-Wing goodness.

Unlike 401 Games, Meeplemart didn't do a pre-order (and 401's pre-order has been sold out for a while on the core set), so I had availability notifications on all the 2.0 stuff I wanted for the first pass. I got the emails that things were coming in stock and went ahead and bought what I wanted within five minutes or so of it all showing as available. About an hour later I checked back and all that stuff had gone back to 'coming soon'. Looks to me like they sold out their initial shipment pretty quick.

I guess that answers the question about whether it'll be in high demand ...

Wonder if Meeple has the damage decks in hand?

All the shipments for Thursday may not have arrived yet? Has 401 looked in the boxes yet? Apparently the decks were supposed to be in the case of cores...

Not time to panic quite yet. Soon, but not yet.

Since they didn't do a pre-order, would they get any?

I don't really want a pre-order damage deck anyway so personally I hope they skipped pre-orders to avoid the damage deck hassle, as I'd rather just get my stuff sooner rather than later ;)

Ouch! Was hoping that the Fantasy Flight Games store on amazon.mx get it available for its release date... Ouch, ouch, ouch!

Meeple didn't state they were getting cores with alt art damage decks.

This is why I went with 401 Games.

Hopefully 401 will ship Thursday so I can spend my weekend sorting new cards/dials and packing up 1.0.?

401 (see my post above) seems to think they have (in-hand) everything except promo decks ...

true but that could be some one just looking at the labels on the outside of boxes instead of actually opening up the core boxes and looking inside.

It has happened before and will again.

Since the promo decks are a one off, I doubt FFG had special boxes made/printed to house them. More likely they were packed in with the 6 core sets per box.

I have to admit you could be right, but wow that would be pretty special of 401 to say "we have THIS but not THAT" without even opening the crate ;) I'd like to have higher faith in humanity than that ;)

You'd like to have higher faith in specific humanity than that ;)

Not saying you're wrong either, though. 401 may not have got the special damage decks. It's also not release day yet and we're not picking up product, so my only point really was to withhold pitchforks. Some of us around these forums are always constantly warming them, waiting to pounce on a triggering post. (also not implying that was your intent!)

My favorite FLGS (in Gatineau) got their stock in, no news about the decks though.

well, I meant it to be less harsh.

when orders come in, usually there are a lot of boxes to sort through.

getting a call or e-mail during this, the employee (probably paid minimum wage) might have had a quick look and said "I don't see them".

tomorrow, when other games/orders are dealt with, they might delve into the x-wing boxes and find the decks.

I doubt they would deal with x-wing orders until the other stock was dealt with.

too much risk of errors and probably too little space to get the preorders packed and labeled.

not so much faith in humanity but rather understanding what they are dealing with in general ?

I have heard that meeplemart may have gotten in a slight bit of trouble for breaking a street date. While I don't know if any product was sold, announcing they had it drew Asmodee’s ire supposedly.

Yeah, it's entirely possible they just took it all back down and put the existing orders on ice until the street date gets here. Their facebook page is saying it releases on Thursday, which would fit.

I've heard rumblings of there being delays in distributors/FLGS getting their preorders of 2.0 before the 13th.

As a result, I am wondering if we will see 2.0 before next week at the earliest, outside the USA that is.

Anyone heard anything about this?

Thanks in advance,

Robert

The pre-orders have started to ship. Ordered at different times so have received first 2 of 4 confirmation emails. So looks like any worries about FLGS not getting stock in time are groundless. Email just dinged with email 3 ? Someone mentioned Amazon pushing back the release date, personally if I was FFG they would be down on the list for stock after specialist game stores, so wouldn't base anything on Amazon schedules. Local book Forbidden planet tends to get book releases the wee before Amazon release dates.

Quebec City: no news about the deck (one way or another) and no Lando Falcon confirmed in 1 store.
