Confused ackbar list?

Ok so this is my first list. I want an ackbar list with a small fighter presence but i think im overdoing it in some places

Not sure on objectives. Most wanted, fire lanes, and sensor net were what i was thinking.

I feel the tantive iv is being an expensive comm net gr-75 and that toryn farr is less than useful on a cr-90a designed for long range. Also feel like I'm muddling the mc-80 trying to make it do too much and wrapping up like 250pts in one activation of partial carrier/partial battleship. Thoughts? Constructive criticism?

If you want to run ackbar and a small fighter presence you want Awings or YT2400's

Both of those work well without squad commands, are good against squads, and good against ships with their black antiship. That lets you nix all the squad support out of your ships and focus on making your ships more shooty - ditch raymus, toryn, flight commander, fighter coordination teams, and boosted coms. Replace them with an assault cruiser for the flagship and add Early Warning System or Reinforced Blast Doors and Engine Techs to it. Turn the 2 B's into 3 a's or 2 yt's and you are cooking with fire.

For objectives - don't take Fire lanes or Sensor net without VCX's. If you want those objectives, replace the 2 b's with VCX's and the A's with 2x HWK's to keep them moving.

Objectives: most wanted, capture the vip, dangerous territory.

So taking your suggestions i came up with this. Hera and the a wings should handle some fighters and have black dice for ships afterwards? And its self contained with full use out of my squadrons. Defiance can throw a blue out to feed leading shots while at long range and it should be survivable. I have 14 points to throw another squadron in there(thinking a generic x wing) or just leave a big bid, or put Raymus or leia in an officer slot somewhere and adding jainas light to a cr-90. Looking better? I only have one yt-2400 and no easy access to more so i can't work around them yet.

Do you have a flotilla? Because for the price of Hera (actually a decent sized discount) you could just add a transport with coms net, it can do the squad activation if you need it, but to be honest, I think in your list you aren't going to want to activate them - you are going to want to let them move to intercept and tie things up in the squad phase to protect the ships. This also takes you from 4 activations to 5 which makes setting up that Defiance shot much easier since you can out-wait your opponent. In this same sense, if you have access to the strategic advisor officer it would absolutely LOVE sitting on the MC80 to help empower defiance. With a flotilla and strategic advisor you could be at effectively 6 ships, which means your opponent will have to activate and move all or mostly all their fleet before the MC80 activates and gets to pick its target.

I agree that Jaina's is always a good call, and its easy to add in for 2 pts. In regards to Leia, she would also be a great fit on that coms net GR-75 if you could get it in there, it makes it an awesome little support ship donating tokens and switching up the MC80 dial as needed. I'd be tentative about Raymus. Raymus is a powerful effect, but he's kinda overcost now and doesn't see much play.

I like it. Ill give it shot. I do have a flotilla and SA, hera was there to help the a wings deal with fighters or move and attack ships more effectively. If the comms net gr 75 doesnt gel ill throw hera back in and see what it does! I do like the 6 activations with the gr 75 and SA.

Absolutely bud, best of luck! Hera is great, but she is REALLY exposed there - and my experience is she is just too expensive if you aren't going in on it. If you were running 4x A-Wings, 1x X-Wings and Hera I would be all for her. But as it stands the A-wings will die too fast making her ability moot, then she will die, and you will be in the whole 50pts for very little positive effect. Better to run a pair of A's (or Shara + Generic, that's my normal tbh.)
