I have played one game with commandos, and i took one sniper and 2 proto charge strike teams. I was not impressed with either. I have heard a couple of people have tried 3 sniper team lists. What are everyone's experience with 3 sniper lists?
3 sniper lists
They are great. Having 3 full man teams with snipers IMO will replace the z-6 trooper units.
How did they underpeform?
They are tough. Shoot at anything you can see, or get into range 3 and unleash full potential. Sharpshooter 1 and Pierce 1 make them great for taking out anything, especially bikes. Full squad shoots 5 black and 1 white with conversions, if you aim they are getting most of the time 5 hits. And once they’re surpressed they auto have hard cover which comes into play a lot. Increases there survivability a lot. If your opponent shoots and doesn’t kill them, they’re most likely surviving with the hard cover. Scout 2 is big to either setup shots or to just get them into position faster. Combo them with Leia and use bombardment first round: that’s a potential of 6 surpression tokens before enemy even moves! Really big
I’m loving the sniper teams for rebels simply because they give a rebels a long range attack and reliable damage output which you don’t get from z6 infantry squads. They are still squishy though so you need to be careful.
Im not super keen on the bomb squads yet but that’s largely because rebels have heaps of things competing for close range attrition death dealers. I think I’ll like them more when I have turrets to bring the long range pain...

The one sniper team just didnt do much. The proto charge teams were ok, but 2 man teams died quickly.
So is the idea of 3 snipers teams is to suppress one unit a turn? I dont see how one black die and one is doing any serious damage....

You're dealing 3 suppression tokens as you like, from across the board. Focus down a single unit, or spread them across multiple units.
And the damage, while not too impressive individually, really adds up. Especially when you consider that the wounds are coming from across the board. So you are whittling their units down before they get in range of your other guys. So by the time units are engaging as usual, you should be at a decent advantage.

I did this to Vader, for his entire long march across the board, the first time I played my sniper. By the time he got within range of anything he was down to a few hit points.

Well with sharpshooter and pierce you will kill 1-2 troopers outside of heavy cover and add a supression. If you want heavy damage go with a full squad of commandoes with a sniper
5 black + 1 white with sharpshooter and pierce + attack surge. Expensive, but nice dmg potential.
On a recent battle report, at range 3 a squad of 5 with a sniper one shotted a stormtrooper unit. They look pretty nifty and I think I may need a second.
