What should I fly my Ebon Hawk as?

YT-1300 looks best to me there ... The Falcon just doesn't feel right for how the Ebon Hawk flew and fought.

I’m not sure what you mean there - there’s no difference between a rebel YT1300 and the Falcon is there?

Surely the Decimator is too tough?

It was meant to be a pseudo-Falcon.

Yeah, but so was the Outrider, and it looks to be pretty close to the same size as that.

Yeah, but the Outrider forced itself to be that size by basically having the Falcon’s cockpit (but with weird bubbles). Dunno why they did that.

Would the JM5k stats make sense? (even if the dial doesn't?) Or is 3 attack a must?

I do like the Lancer option the most, though. It has fixed forward guns and dual turrets. Makes a lot of sense.

I use YT-1300 and Falcon interchangeably. A bad habit here since the Falcon is more evasive than the baseline Rebel YT-1300. Decimator is the only Imp large base that is even close to approximating Ebon Hawk.

Ebon Hawk has dual forward firing quad-lasers. 3 is on the soft end of what that can put out. Jm5k with title might work, but so could the YV-666

Said equipment is a few thousand years old, though. The HWK with MC title seems like a better fit.

The issue there is size, you could fit two HWKs in the Ebon Hawks footprint. Otherwise the Moldy Crow is a fair simile.

I vote shadowcaster, but if it must be rebels the Hwk 290 is too small (hull and shields)

Use old yt2400 stats and give it a bonus attack die in forward arc.

Old YT-2400 stats for attack and defense. New YT-2400 stats for hull and shields. New Moldy Crow title.

Or just play as a scum shadowcaster because that's a lot of changes.

Anyone actually done their own versions by the way?

Possibly a U-Wing?

Definitely a U-wing. Medium base, stop, janky stop maneuvers, system, two crew.

U-wing: No turret, most of its length and width come from the variable position "wings" depending on their position

Ebon Hawk: 2 turrets, single configuration.

Other than those two big differences I can see the partisan version working. (Remember, it was a crime boss's ship before Revan got ahold of it, that screams Illicit slot needed)

Easy enough to turn the primary into a rotating arc, just throw the token on.

Are we talking shiggles games with buds or actual shop games with it as an alternate model? For shiggles games sure, for store games not so much.

In a shop, but not tournaments.

Ooh, yeah, should definitely have an illicit, full of spice and people in magic boxes.

Then heck, as long as your group is game for it, adjust the designs to as close to what the Ebon Hawk was as you can. I'd suggest the Lancer or HWK with Moldy Crow title as a starting point. More the Lancer instead of the HWK due to size and since you have access to 3 pilots that are fairly reflective of what was possible on the Ebon Hawk. Wren as a baseline for Canderous Ordo (though he didn't fly the Ebon Hawk in the game); Ketsu Onyo for either Carth Onasi or Atton Rand; and Ventriss for the player (though once again you didn't actually fly the ship, just told it where to go and manned the turrets in KotOR 1), Bastila or Treia. Tweak them a bit (swap Ketsu's tractor token for a stress or ion as an example) and it should work. For adjustments to the ship I'd suggest swapping out the title for a gunner slot and maybe running the Rebel or Scum Falcon's dial (just make sure the dial is remarked, even temporarily, as being for the Ebon Hawk and not the Falcon) and putting the Ebon Hawk on either a Large or Med base.

We need the prequel stuff to come out with lots more force upgrades. Gotta be a Battle Meditation upgrade for Bastila!

In-game interior shot of the cockpit:

Now it’s certainly got a case of it’s-bigger-on-the-inside™ but there’s more to it than that. Look at that central console between the pilot and co-pilot seat - you just couldn’t fit something like that in the Falcon.

I think it should be about 10-20% larger.

That's not a cockpit, that's a bridge.

Han has to crawl across crewmembers to get to his seat in a pinch.

Based on the in game shot, that ship could be the size of a corvette:

Taking only the interior dimensions into account yes it could be that big. The exterior dimensions don't support this though... I get the feeling that the discrepancy comes from game engine and playability limitations in KotOR itself.

Ah, well. It's all hand-waviology in the first place.

Model, showing canon size:

IMG_1301.HEIC

Given the model size as pictured above, give it the specs of a YT-2400 and play with the YT-1300 dial.

Voila! New ship!!

Or, use a 1.0 dial, and then the dial really is different than the new YT-2400 and -1300 2.0 dials.

All this does make me want to buy and paint one myself, however. . .

This is what I would do:

SOuRPQr.jpg

My rationals:

1. Base it on something in the game; less arguing about accuracy.

2. I was supposed to be Falcon-esque.

3. But it is obviously not as big as a YT-1300, so use ORS stats cuz that's "smaller."

4. Change missile to turret and add a crew because of the lore.

Then, tweak away. That was the whole point of the Dynamic-class.

Bit cheap isn’t it? Should be double that, I’d have though!

I had another though on the size by the way - the Hawk slept six (obviously one of your meatbag companions in KotOR had to sleep on the couch or in the medbay), while Google suggests the Falcon slept three. Makes sense that the Hawk would be more spacious!
