Steps to follow to get to the bottom of this:

1. First use Hubble or another good telescope to find "swamp-like" planet - it has to be swamp EVERYWHERE from the Northpole to the Southpole - SWAMP! This is the planet known as "Dagobah".

2. Travel there using some sort of space craft capable to getting there BEFORE the scientists die of old age, alternatively develop some sort of STASIS mechanism or a Hyperdrive.

3. Entering planet orbit, search for ONE SINGLE OLD small green creature, notice this "Being" does not want to be found and have purposely hidden there as there are so many lifeforms there so using some form of life scanner is out of the question. So this will take time.

4. IF you are so lucky to discover this creature you have found "Yoda" and can travel down to meet him - there is no landing site so use a craft capable of landing in rough-swamp like conditions - possibly som parachute mechanism will get you there safely.

5. Interview this "Yoda" to get him to tell you about the force - fair warning though, this guy is obnoxious, will pretend to be stupid, and will generally just speak in riddles.

When I first saw tESB I tought this was how all Jedi trained. You found yoursel a lone sensei who tought you how to become a jedi. If you couldn't find a teacher, you where probably not worthy.
