Just an interesting idea occured to me. is it possible to use the Dark heresy background packages in Rogue trader or would that not work. i've got both books and can't see any problems.

I don't see why not. You would probably have to do a little work on them first, either writing up some new RT themed packages or at least a list of "the following packages are available to this Career path." Anything that adds to character development and builds on your story in a productive way is a good thing IMO.

I agree with Zilla. RT already has a very similiar approach in character design (this tree-bases-"thing") so another option cannot do to much harm.

My RT PC is from Battlefleet Calaxis, and it has workedvery well thusfar. For background packages, I see two options:

-Either specify a row on the origin path that they would replace. Often, likely, birthright or trials and travails.

-OR just let them purchase them with their starting xp. Either way.
