Exploration Tokens

Destructible location, "A player controlling this area with at least 6 units may discard this token. Does this mean that by discarding it means that the effect on the card is void? If my opponet controls the area but I walk in with 6 units I can get rid of it. Is this why this would be used. Thanks for your answers.

By discarding the token, you are essentially removing the token from the game permanently. Most likely, you will want to do this if you invade an enemy area, take control of it, but don't feel you'll be able to control it for very long.

For instance, if your opponent's area has the Dragon Throne token, but it's really close to his Strongholds so you won't be able to hang on to it long, you could move in, wipe out any resistance, and then discard the token, so that when your opponent takes the area back, they no longer get the benefit of the token.

Also, you can't just "walk in with 6 units" if they control the area. You have to control the area yourself in order to destroy the location. Usually that will mean chasing off whatever units they have there that are allowing them to control the hex.

Thats what I thought but still its nice to get clarification. Thanks for the answer.
