What are some fun things to do in 1.0 you can't do in 2.0?

By Blail Blerg, in X-Wing

Even better if you can name some fun things that aren't OP or super competitive

You can transition into second edition!

Everything is so new and shiney!

I can't play QD and Whisper together anymore. or reapers.

Sunny Bounder with linked batteries.

Kihraxzes with some cool assortment of mods'n'stuff (TM).

Intensity BB8 Poe with primed thrusters. That was a fun ship to fly.

Deathfire. One of my favorite pilots in 1.0. Ability was awesome.

QuickDraw + Vessery combo.

THWEEK!!! :D

(And yes, that's really what he looks like. Link to the original page.)

Two answers, one snarky, one not. The not snarky one:

FIVE. CAVERN. ANGELS. ZEALOTS. :D

And now the snarky one:

In 1.0, we can fly a Ghost with a docked Phantom and TLT to get four 360 degree 3-dice attacks a round. So much fun. ;)

For even more fun, fly Kanan with Recon Specialist and Jan, take a focus to reduce attackers dice by 1 and get a free evade, add Fenn Rau in a Sheathipede to coordinate an additional evade and then take stress to make the attacker not spend any tokens to modify their attack, making it possible for a 0-agility Ghost to take 0 or 1 damage from most ships, even at range 1. Can't do that in 2.0.

Linked Sunny is sorely missed :(

And Intense Guri.

None, because if your opponents list contains even one high tier ship you're done.

I guess using action bombs on low ps ships was a fun challenge with TIE Bombers.

Use my huge ships in epic tournaments. :(

I'm still going to mix and match the editions so I can have the best of both worlds in casual games, but no-one can run actual events 'officially' until FFG gets some rules out there.

I quit first when I was getting my dice modified 4 and 5 times every time I rolled them. I'm so glad to see 1.0 gone.

Slap PTL and Engine Upgrade on Zeta Ace, then 1-turn/boost/barrel roll and end up behind where you started.

Create a Tycho stress pile :(

Andrew Suhlak with cruise missiles and glitterstim (and g-chips too I guess) occasionally dropping the hottest mix-tape 6-die attack of the year. Especially if it's all dumped onto some poor TIE :)

Poe and Wedge flying together. I had a ton of fun with those two, it'll be hard having to pick one or the other for 2.0 (though 2.0 Poe does look like a lot of fun)

Ketsu and Bossk nuking a defender in a single round, dang near guaranteed.

Drea Renthal, TLT + R4-B11. She just doesn't miss, all while getting four stress a turn, funny, not to OP.

Brilliant anti ace ship.

Pattern Analyzer. Pretty much every time I flew this card I had a blast. Hopefully it comes back.

but specifically: Nien Nunb, tugboats with tractor array, Silencers

Vader, Vessery, and Omega Leader in the same squad

rip

5x M3A's with mangler cannons.

I am sad that my favorite list is no longer in the game.

Not sure if this was autocorrect or not but he will forever be known as Andrew S. Luck from now on in my head at least.

Choose a version of the Scyk to play.

Choose a version of the Defender to play.

Have favorite EU characters (Ysanne Isard, Mara Jade, Juno Eclipse) be in the game.

Set up that perfect 4-straight Cruise Missile run with chips on a Baron of the Empire or a Kihrazx.

And, of course, anything Epic.

3 imperial aces with ps 9 and have some form of counterplay to 4dice attacks (tokening up)

I'm actually excited to trybout 2nd editition epic (protio: just double the cost of 1st ed epic components, rounded down. If a card is huge ship only and/or energy, just directly port it in from 1st ed)

Will be nice to see how monstrous epic ships will be when the standard ships come from a more balanced environment

I was going to try using all the epic bits at their printed costs and see how it turns out. No limit on epic points. :D
