Strategic Adviser in Corellian Conflict

By Duke-Vimes, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Hi all, new to the forums with a question for my local Corellian Conflict campaign.

Does the Strategic Adviser count as a ‘unique’ card and therefore can only be in 1 out of the 3 fleets per team? I’m thinking yes since it has a dot marking it as unique. Some of my players think it’s only the ‘named’ cards e.g. Darth Vader and his variants.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That’s exactly it.

The dot makes it unique.

The rules make no distinction between “unique” and “named unique” or “super unique” or “unique unique” or “generic unique”.

its either dotted, and thus unique..... or not.

... same as the fleet commands.

House-rule it if all you agree. Even when it is obvious Darth Vader cannot be in two places at the same time (that power is reserved to his son) it may feel weird the same rules for Strategic Adviser thematically or the fleet commands. Also there is Hondo. But that's up to you and how you enjoy the game. You could also consider your team as a unique force (what is also supported by the idea of a chief admiral I don't remember the name now) and only one wise Strategic Adviser was dispatched by the Emperor to help you to accomplish your task.

Hondo is clearly an exception. He can be in any fleet, even two opposing fleets. It's Hondo after all :P

As my sweet mother always said: Son, if one Hondo is good, two Hondos are better, And three Hondos, well, that's good business.

Yea as others have said it's unique and limited to one across everyone. Though we house ruled that Strat Ad and the Fleet commands would just be unique within each players fleet and not across an entire team.
