Quality if the rebel commandos

By BigBadAndy, in Painting

I haven’t painted my rebel commandos yet, so I’m not intimately familiar with all their quirks. But is it just me or are they a step up in quality? They come in more pieces and seem to have generally more dynamic poses and better looking sculpts than the previous trooper units.

I donno if I'd say the quality is better, I didn't notice any differences, but the nature of their weapons, and role, kind of necessitate more interesting poses.

I was kinda bothered by the extra model pieces since they're so tiny. Dropping one of those tiny arms/hands into thick carpeting that has a mix of light and dark fibers was not fun.

I enjoyed the assembly of the 2 squads ive managed to get in primer. The small hand was somewhat annoying. Been playing with a few different color scemes for these units and nothing thats just jumping out at me yet. Maybe itll hit me whaile i finish up my storm troopers.

I found fleet troopers and Leia being higher quality than rebel troopers. Commandoes was about the same, they were harder to convert from their mono-pose

Same for Snowtroopers vs Stormtroopers.

They have deliberately made the starter box minis easier to assemble, at a small cost to quality.
