New Article - Boba Fett Details

Tabletop Admiral updated.

Boba Fett seems absurdly good.

So excited for this guy! Rocket really improves him, like we all thought. Although what’s the need for blast? He’s already got sharpshooter 2. Hope they release soon!

Blast is specific to the command card weapons, whereas Sharpshooter 2 applies to all of his weapons.

So he has sharpshooter permanently, then, those other command cards have blast, so it isn't entirely redundant it seems.

Sorry I confused "Blast" with "Spray!"

The command card weapon is one his weapons. That’s why it redundant.

Ie Sharpshooter 2 applies to the flamethrower and the Jetpack rocket if those weapons are used.

Maybe it's just in case there's a future effect that reduces or cancels the Sharpshooter abbility

This is what I was about to type, and what I meant in my original post. There may be effects that refer to Blast specifically in the future, which would affect the CCs but not his other card weapons.

What?

I'm loving every part except for the 3 pip rocket today, I just don't know if the damage output offsets the lack of 2 more orders being handed out like you would get with a normal 3 pip card.

He's pretty good, but fortunately his Command cards are mediocre at best. The 1-pip is okay but situational (basically really only key if the enemy manages to get him into melee somehow, decent otherwise).

Which is fine, since you don’t have to give up your commanders ones for his...

Yeah, I am not sure I'd include more than 1 of his command cards.

I think upgrades like HQ Uplink are going to be key to running fully kitted operatives. Like beefcake said, giving up the activation control is hard to justify unless you make really good use out of it.

Gonna buy him no matter what and when Navy Troopers (for repainting) or a squad of Jabba's Guards or something is released, I WILL hammer together a list consisting of:

Boba Fett

15 Snowtroopers, by total headcount possibly including E-Web teams

9 Bounty Hunter squaddies by total headcount possibly including an officer or Veers conversion

Then, by hook or by crook, I will get enough of these to densely cover a table.

Edit: Scout troopers might form the basis of bounty hunter conversions... hmm....

As I'm new to the game, can someone explain the meaning of "giving up activation control"?

Does it simply mean, including an Operative means you have fewer activation, since Fett takes up the space of 2 or more units of basic troopers?

No, it means that with Boba Fett's 3 command cards, you can always give an order only to Boba Fett, but with the other 2 or 3 pips command cards you can assign orders to 2 or 3 of your units, having more control over when to activate a unit and which one.

I think in this instance they actually mean order control. With Boba, he only gives himself a face up order token. This means that the rest of your army is going to activate randomly, in turn giving up your control on the turn. You've got to weigh how important the card is in order to give up that control.

ahhhh, I see! Thanks!

I'm actually playing the game this afternoon for the first time (outside of learning battle at home by myself haha)

Seems like hq uplink would pair nicely on a few units so boba could still control a bit of the unit pull. That is something im looking at with him.
