Keyforge at Magfest 2019

By MUTADEDHELIX, in KeyForge

Is anyone else interested in seeing Keyforge events at Magfest 2019? Keyforge launches end q4 and magfest is Jan 3-6. It could be one of the first sanctioned tournaments in a venue with roughly thirty thousand people.

Also, does anyone know if there is a way to request FFG to have a sanctioned event at magfest?

WTH is magfest?

Magfest, Super Magfest specifically is a music and gaming festival in the national harbor area. Last year I think it had 40k plus people. There is a 24 hour arcade open the whole time, a huge shop area, cosplay and pannels for the whole event and card and board games running the whole time. For instance there is 24 hr magic drafts. This year I would absolutely love to see keyforge there this year.

National harbour area?

Thank you for the links

I think organized play will take a few months before they are prepared to have sanctioned tournament play ready. Thats not to say people aren't going to have sealed tournaments and other formats available at local shops.

True, well even if there is no sanctioned event, I would love for tournaments to be running regardless at magfest.

Store Championships and such are about 6 months away, but more so because of the way FFG cycles through such things.

Quarterly prize kits and even a pre-release kit, let's hope they come in right away.

Because the game may appeal to a wide cross section of gamers FFG needs to hit the ground running and make sure that they give the communities that will form around the game every chance to prosper and grow.

I agree with that. Which is why I hope it hits magfest. A relatively small group is there for mtg but this sort of more casual style gsme I think will click with the majoroty of people attending. It would be a huge boost to this game gettibg a strong player base early on.

If anyone else wants to see it at supermagfest, leave a reply
