Thanks to a purchase of second-hand armada ships, I found myself in possession of no less than four Nebulon-B frigates. So I though I'd take them for a spin yesterday! It was a really close game against an ISD + Raider swarm, which came down to a last-turn ram by my last Neb-B on 2 hull against the 1-hull Star Destroyer.

It's certainly not a competitive list, but it was a lot of fun to play, and it got me wondering...

What other weird fleets are there out there?

Which combination of ships and upgrades would you like to try out, if only you had the forces? Alternatively which silly ideas have you actually put on the table, and how did they do?

I don't know if it's weird but 5 Victory Class-1 Star Destroyers with Motti.

6 arquitens with Vader, they all get slaved turrets. A lot of re-rollable red dice at the potential cost of deadly traffic jams.

I have a list that is either the very best or very worst list ever created. ?

3x Quasar 2 with Ruthless Strategist and 14x Tie Bomber for a total of 70 hit points on squads. That should allow for a lot of Ruthless Strategist (Tie Bomber a some of the most efficient hit points per point cost squads.)

So my ships take out the enemy squads and my squads then take on the enemy ships xD

Unfortunately I had no opportunity to play the list so far. (and I don't have 14 Tie Bomber ? )

Once she is the only squad left she will not be able to put out nearly enough dmg to make a dent in my bomber count.

Ciena isn't there to kill your bombers. She's there to 'TIE' them up. Why bother trying to bore through that much hull when you get all the points for free after taking down the 3 Quasars? You're basically looking at a catch 22. Spread out your bombers so they can't be tied down (diminishing your ability to concentrate their fire on a single target) or clump them up to attack a single target (providing Ciena with the opportunity to tie down 5-6 bombers). With no enemy intel, she just has to pop in and sit there. No one can attack her, so she can sit there all game. She could easily hold down five bombers, which while that does leave you with nine, your ability to overheat defense tokens and bore through shields is greatly diminished.

I don't remember any data in the various @Baltanok Regionals data collection efforts or anything from NOVA or Gencon or Worlds in the past few years having 3+ Nebulon-Bs doing well. I'm also pretty confident you don't have any actual concrete information about any kind of fleet like that doing well either.

Wave 3: 1 list 12/15 (Fargo, ND regional?)

Wave 5: 1 list 11/23+ Waterloo, UK (we didn't have complete lists from there)

Still, @geek19 used Leia to good effect at Gencon, and didn't @Truthiness , @BiggsIRL , or @shmitty win a regional with Garm? (maybe 2 of them, don't remember) There's still room for someone to be the King of the Pork Chop fleet. It could be you!

Store champs are fun but they're not the same competitive intensity as a Regional or major convention. Do well with Neb spam at one of those and I'll concede defeat. Nothing wrong with playing it casually and having fun with it, but if people are going to claim it's a competitive build, then bring it to a big competition and prove it. Nobody has yet.

And this is coming from the guy who helped @geek19 with his Leia fleet and won Adepticon twice with Ozzel and Raiders. You can go against the grain, but if you want people to take you seriously you need to prove it.

Doesn't work.

It's easy to obstruct vs flak.

One Jamming Field shuts u down. Or Ciena.

You CAN take Flight Controllers, but it doesn't help that much. Everything is Heavy and enemy picks down bombers faster than u can count.

And why you try to get your bombers free... his real ships blow your Quasars up

I know this, I've tried to play vs a list like this.
