I know :( I felt like the design of this armor was ok but have you noticed that almost every version of padded has some sort of obligatory dorkiness to it? lol For the SWG Padded it was the helmet. In the FFG Core Book it's the barrel belly breastplate.

I have to say that I do like the idea of stuff that looks like clothing being able to have some decent Protective Ability as I don't want the game to always devolve into everyone in powered battle armor as the game goes on. I applaud FFG for making extra Soak come from the trees and allowing clothing items to be protective. In reality Armor is in every way better unless you are crawling through conduits or at a dinner party, but it's not going to make players happy to have to take a mechanical disadvantage for the purpose of the look of things.

Sans helmet, this was my favorite armor set in that game. Get good colors on it (I usually went with black/red, so what's blue on this pic is red) and it looks badass.

Double post, sorry.

Yeah the dreaded helmet, ah well just use RIS armor helmet.

I remember that RIS helmet being a real status symbol for a while :) The composite helmet was always my favorite, but I wished they would have had other options for it. At one point I think they had it where you could craft it with a different color on the visor. I wished that all of the helms had some sort of accessory setup like what this game has, that would have been great.

Most of Jabba's guards are wearing some form of padded armor, especially the Weequay.

Padded Armor is most certainly not supposed to be "rigid armor" and the Oskara art's suit doesn't match up well at all with what Padded Armor is supposed to be. The Naboo guards are a far better example of Padded Armor, and the one from the book is, well, the one from the book.

I agree no Rigid. There are light armor categories for what we see in the Oskara art is just that and not representative of gear for Oskara

She's just a dancer in a prop suit. All Twi'leks are really just eye-candy dancers, even ones that imagine themselves to be pilots able to interbreed with humans.

@HappyDaze poking people with a stick. In a game I had a male Twi'lek show up and the players were amazed. "They really exist!" lol

He's a dancer too. Might have a butterface, but under those robes he's no doubt ripped and packing serious eggplant.

I linked the picture earlier in the thread. Her character sheet lists padded, but it looks like a more rigid armor. That's why I lean towards the more narrative based aspect of armor. "Padded" can be any form of 2/0 non sealable no(?) hardpoint armor.
