As my frst attempt at running RT I decided to go for the rather risky choice of not only inventing a new location in the setting and sketching it's society for in-game improvisation. Also setting up a multiplot by mean of giving players additional messages.

The Place:
Wagner DIX trading station
Commissioned : 0100341.M31
Lost in the warp: 0257018.M32
Found by La Fávae family: 0279749.M39
Officially claimed by La Fávae family: 0260750.M39
The Wagner DIX was a grand cruiser commissioned on Mars (0100341.M31) during the great crusade. The Wagner DIX served in the 509th expedition fleet durng the crusade and subsequently in the newly formed Imperial Navy in Battlefleet Obscuras after the Horus Heresy until it vanished with all hands during a routine patrol of the rimward sectors. (0257018.M32)
Nothing was heard of the Wagner DIX for 7,731 years. Until the Rogue Trader Alphonse La Fávae discovered that what he had thought to be a debris field was in fact “a voided cargo gathered around a damaged, but largely intact vessel, a vessel of great displacement.” What La Fávae had discovered was the immobile hulk of the Wagner DIX (0279749.M39) Which he laid claim to and was granted ownership of early the following year. (0260750.M39)
In the years after claiming the Wagner DIX the La Fávae family had the faulty warp engines repaired and repeatedly attempted to repair the damage that had rendered the main plasma drives and most of the weapons inoperable without success.
Justin La Fávae (Alphonse’s grandson) converts the Wagner DIX into a trading station (0214821.M39) using profits from salvaging parts from many of the ship’s ancient systems and selling them to the Adeptus Mechanicus. Justin La Fávae is assassinated by his sister Simone La Fávae, before conversion work is complete, Simone uses central location of station to integrate it into black market trading routes through Port Maw.
Simone La Fávae dies mysteriously (0292940.M39) in an incident involving an exploding servitor and a faulty airlock, Iago La Fávae takes control.
Civil order on the station breaks down. (0201204.M40) Crew, traders and pirates claim portions of the station for themselves. Iago III retaliates by hiring mercenary company the Iron Deathskulls to function as security force. Iago is assassinated by his brother Iago IV, the Iron Deathskulls contract is maintained.
The current owner of the Wagner DIX station is the young and devious Iago La Fávae VII (the first Iago’s great-great-great-grandson.) Iago VII holds control with the Iron Deathskulls who (it is rumoured) helped him assassinate his father.
Iago La Fávae VII is unpredictable, untrusthworthy and possesses an endless capacity for vileness.
