Double Boost?

By Croste, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Game effects such as “gain 1 focus token,” “boost,” or “acquire a lock”
are not actions, and a ship can resolve these game effects any number
of times each round.

Game effects such as “perform a ? action,”
“perform a ? action,” or “perform a ? action” are actions, and
therefore each ship can perform each of these actions only once per
round.

Am I seeing this right?

If I gain a boost, I can still take a boost action?

Can I gain 2 Boosts?

I really wanna say no but that first example is throwing me off.

Yup its totally legal now to double boost or double barrel roll if one of them is not an action. Although other than decloack, there is no card in 2.0 at the moment that says perform a "boost" or "barrel roll" without also saying "action" on it.

Yes, if you have a way to 'perform a boost' without it being an action, you can do it alongside an action. E.g. Decloaking. Or being Tractor Beamed.

This was all true in 1st Edition, too, by the way.

Wow

I mean, it's true, but it's mostly moot. As @thespaceinvader said, the only effects which can do this are tractors and decloaking. I expect things will stay mostly this way.

For some reason it was just set in my mind that you can't double boost or double barrel roll. I actually treated tractor beam and decloak as a separate thing.
