Fellow Brobots, what are you flying in 2.0

By tsondaboy, in X-Wing

Anyone else excited about brobots (with a step bro in the sdquad) in 2.0 like I am?
Looks like they got some really nice buffs like Juke and Cloaking, and you can easily fit a 3rd support ship in the squad now.
Some of the first squads I want to try are Brobots with Palob for token control and Brobots with the Falcon for a big chunk of blocking madness.
Forget about Attanni Mindlink, IG-88D is the new (lighter) Mindlink!

Palob Godalhi + IG-88D
IG-88A + Juke + Electronic Baffle +IG-20002
IG-88C + Juke + Electronic Baffle +IG-20002

or

Freighter Captain
IG-88A + Juke + Electronic Baffle +IG-20002
IG-88C + Juke +IG-20002

Finally, Juuuuuuuuuke.

Great list but that's not a Brobot list.
You have to fly double IGs to be admitted to the club!

I like the idea of juke, but I would go for more defensive stuff on Palob (a shame that it's not enough for Molly Crow)

IG-88C (70)

Engine on Palob is definitely something I would consider too, since it links nicely with IG-88C. I am not 100% sold on Elusive though because the HWK still cant clear stress that well and you need the actions on it desperately. Intimidation oh him though might be very interesting if you use him as a ram.

After plenty ajustments I optimized this list:

198 points:

IG-88A — Aggressor 70
Elusive 3
Advanced Sensors 8
Seismic Charges 3
Contraband Cybernetics 5
Shield Upgrade 8
IG-2000 2
Ship Total: 99

IG-88C — Aggressor 70
Elusive 3
Advanced Sensors 8
Seismic Charges 3
Contraband Cybernetics 5
Shield Upgrade 8
IG-2000 2
Ship Total: 99

I use Elusive/L3-37 as a combo.

I'm struggling to make a good BroBots list. The problem seems to be they're a little too cheap to take 2 fully upgraded ones, as you end up with an annoying number of points left over, but a little too expensive to get everything I want from a 3-ship list. At the moment I'm liking:

IG-88A (70)
Juke (4)
IG-2000 (2)

IG-88C (70)
Juke (4)
IG-2000 (2)

Palob Godalhi (38)
Crack Shot (1)
IG-88D (4)
Engine Upgrade (*)

Total: 198

Not convinced on the Crack Shot, but it's the best I could do with the points remaining. Kind of sad I couldn't fir Moldy Crow in :(

Is it just me or does Sarco Plank work with Cloaking Device and Stealth Device this edition? His text says “Treat your agility value as equal to the speed of the maneuver you executed this round” so I am inclined to say that Planking with the above upgrades means an AGI6 tractor-tokening troll.

bonus that he’s only 44 with Stealth Device, Cloaking Device and Cikatro Vizago. Means you can fit IGs A and B with IG2k, Ion cannon and Inertial Dampeners on both.

could be a decent control setup if you can reliably plank people.

Only thing to note is that advanced sensors will shut down IG-88C’s evade ability, but it’s still probably useful in many situations.

Here is a control version that won’t be nearly as good as some of these others, but is here for the shenanigans:

Control

(70) IG-88C
(3) Tractor Beam
(4) Rigged Cargo Chute
(2) IG-2000
(4) Juke
Points 83

(70) IG-88A
(5) Ion Cannon
(4) Rigged Cargo Chute
(4) Juke
(2) IG-2000
Points 85

(28) Jakku Gunrunner
(4) IG-88D
Points 32

Total points: 200

Not Brobots. I need to come up with a name...

IG-88A (70)
Fearless (3)
Fire-Control System (3)
Heavy Laser Cannon (4)
Ion Cannon (5)
Proton Bombs (5)
Contraband Cybernetics (5)

Guri (62)
Outmaneuver (6)
Advanced Sensors (8)
Hull Upgrade (*)
Virago (10)
Shield Upgrade (*)

Total: 196

Guri is basically a small base IG (same stat line) that can dance and knife fight with the best of them. IG A can pass her a calculate if she needs one.

IG-88A and IG-88B with the same configuration:

Outmanoeuver

Advanced sensors

Heavy laser cannon

Tractor beam

Inertia dampner

IG-2000

Proximity mines

I tried Guri/IG-88A/L3-37 with IG-88D crew and really liked it. Guri becomes really tough if she has multiple green tokens.

Beat a Dash/Y-Wing and a Howl-Iden-Gideon-Del-Mauler-Academy swarm, but got destroyed by a reaper/Rexler/Proton Nu.

Really fun list to fly, it reminds me of the good old attani

As a fellow Brobot player, I am playing Howl-Iden Swarm in 2.0.... because it's insanely good.

I actually played around with a similar idea, but threw IG-88D on with Unkar Plutt. It gives you 30 points of upgrades, which seems to be plenty. Just try to ram stuff with Plutt and he'll soften up a lot of targets for the Bros.

To be fair, I'm not even a Scum player, just was toying with the Squad Builder.

As a former Swarm player, I hope I meet you with my Brobots!

I'm flying Rexler Brath and Countess Ryad with Advanced Sensors and Outmaneuver on both. Imperial Brobots!

On a more serious note, I'm toying with Traj Sim, Seismic Charges, Cloaking Device and other stuff (still working). I've never actually flown a Brobot list - gotta pick up a second Aggressor still, but I think I'll fall in love with it pretty quickly.

Yeah both lists will try to joust and you have to be insane to go head on to the list SOTL posted. Aces though are gonna be tricky
