White would be a nice reversal of last year's templates, and make them more distinct from the GenCon coat templates.

I wonder if they'll do dice again?

Regardless, I plan to see you there.

@Church14

I hope you are planning on bringing this one home for Waiqar?

Good luck to all who enter!

I was super confused about "extended art" upgrade cards since we never really had art on them, but hey, prizes!

Also yeah the white looks nice on the templates.

Funny thing, I’m going to bring whichever army makes me feel the most confident. I have a Waiqar list that has been getting me consistent wins now against several Latari opponents and deals a surprising amount of auto/plink Damage that is adding up against low armor lists.

It wins realiably, but doesn’t win big reliably, which is my concern.

I would like to go but the cost is just way out of my budget.

I know it may sound lame, but I'm actually really excited about the Runewars T-shirt. I'd love to wear one of those to help promote the game. But I'm probably not going to be able to make it to the tournament because I have a tight schedule that weekend. Sigh.

I brought a list that wins, but not win big last year and paid for it. Went 3/1 in Swiss and placed 9th...

Yes, 10-1, 10-1, 1-10, and 10-1 is 31 points. That will beat 6-5, 6-5, 6-5, 6-5 for 24 points, and for that matter, 4 x 7-4 for 28 points. I suspect Runewars is similar in this respect to Armada, but we found that you generally want to be around an 8 point average if you want to make the top 4.

Hmmm... isn't there a big issue with this system? It would seem that you are very dependent on facing unexperienced/tired players. If you face and beat 4 great players, thus perhaps being champ material, you still might not make the cut!?

I fully understand that, and I would do the same. But you have talked the talk (downtalked Uthuk and uptalked Waiqar) quite a bit on this forum, so lets walk the walk ;)

Who will represent the UK/Europe at Worlds this year?
Will the Uthuk rampage continue?? (and therefore confirming that, yes, red ones do go faster)
Will Church14 go undefeated and level up to Cathedral15???
Will Rune Wars get an FAQ prior ?!
Will FFG have game mats or just use tape and green table cloth again like Nationals??!
Lord V legal at Worlds ???!!

All this and more . . News at 11. .

I used an extreme to illustrate a point. No tournament system is perfect. In reality, you're going to start facing the other top players of the tournament pretty quickly if you put up and maintain high scores. If two great players face each other in the first round to a low MOV, then the pairing system means they'll also be paired against other players who had middling results, and who are not likely to be as good. Generally speaking, at a high level event, it is only the great players who can consistently create the kind of separation between themselves and other good players that is required to make the top tier of the tournament.

I would no way be able to make Worlds this year due to lack of annual leave days left for work and also the risk of not having a passport in time. Although I will now make it a mission of mine to try and attend next year.

I really hope we get a bigger showing than last year (15 I believe?), the game needs it otherwise Doom Prophets will start to sound like truth sayers!

Lol, well I can confirm they'll be using the FFGC Runewars mats, so have no fear, they have the right stuff!

A FAQ prior to worlds ... we can only hope! I do wonder if we'll have one more set of new stuff out just to give that meta good little mix...

My FLGS says they need to lockdown preorders from the distributor this week, so we're looking for an early October release of Ventala Skirmishers and Viper Legion. Depending on how early in October, they just might be legal for Worlds. No word yet on Lord Vorun'thul or Baron Zachareth.
