I've seen a few mentions around the forums for various products outside the usual range rulers and tokens. With people coming back and new people coming in... this seems like the perfect time to collect together all the things that make your x-wing life easier!

My current setup is for everything. I've traveled to Cons, use it for playing at the FLGS, and mainly tournaments all around my area:

Feldherr Mini bag - https://www.feldherr.net/feldherr-mini-half-size-bag-empty/a-40340/ - I took mine to a dry cleaner that does stitching to sew on D rings for a shoulder strap. Makes carrying playmat and opening doors a lot easier. I have to pack it properly with the lists I'm going to fly that day (the one downside to not taking full collection). It holds upwards of 5 lists depending on the number of big ships I fly, but most of my lists overlap ships.

Cog-O-Two damage deck holder - http://www.cogotwo.com/x-wing-compatible/first-order-detail - Easiest thing to toss around the game board, durable, SOLID choice for your damage deck (sleeved). I don't have any bent corners and easiest to pull cards out, while not being awkward and fiddly. I used to have a Sir Willi's and may go back to one of those if the acrylic one ever dies.

Template and token tray (similar one linked) - http://www.cogotwo.com/x-wing-compatible/plr-range-ruler-layer-detail - I have a 3-layer system for templates and tokens that perfectly fit the feldherr Mini. One tray is like this where I can put shields/focus/everything. Another layer is the templates, and the top layer is just a topper, but I did glue a ridge of 3mm wide acrylic around it so I can use it to move between tables (ships, tokens/dials don't go flying)

Things I wish I had:

A dice box that's portable, or maybe even integrates with my storage/travel system. Dice go everywhere! Also, I've seen locals use a low profile dice box to carry everything between tables. Works great!

Flight deck - Look it up on kickstarter, it was amazing and I hope the folks that made it come up with a 2nd version. One of the easier ways to carry around a list and not be fiddly with it. Setup is a breeze!

Playmat holder with a shoulder strap that actually holds up - might have to custom make one of these. Artist artwork holders work but are flimsy.

So what do you use that makes your life easier when playing x-wing outside your house?

For typical game nights, I roll with this Feldherr Medium bag. I have a bunch of their various trays and just mix and match them for whatever lists I'm planning to play. It has plenty of room for everything I need. For tournaments, I use a few different tin lunchboxes. I use this as my template tray for both.

I picked up a Cog'O Two damage deck holder at the weekend, it's a great help. Also game them my range rulers to get them 2nd edition compatible.

I have a KR Aquila case which is perfect for transporting models, cards and dice for competitions. I manged to fit two 100 point lists and a 200 point Team Epic list (including a Gozanti) for the European Championships, along with all cards, dice, tokens and templates etc.

Another helpful little tool is the Army Painter Target Lock laser line for measuring arcs.

I use one of these I found on Ebay for templates, damage deck, and to store dice.

I use the harbor freight line laser. Straight as an arrow, comes mounted to a removable flat base, and was only $4.

To transport to game night, depending on how much I'm bringing, I've used padded lunch boxes, a roughly 12x9x2 box with magnetic close from ikea, and 12x12x12 padded pizza carrying cases with homemade foam inserts for a faction worth of ships. Along with the standard Plano 1374 carrying the tokens, based, and card binders.

I've got a little plano storage box that easily holds two lists of small base ships, my damage deck, dials, dice and cards. Templates go into a magnetic template tray from Highbridge Design that also has a tournament tray. I also carry a little fancy dice box that is magnetic. It holds dice, tokens, pen, laser pointer, base markers, ect in between rounds. All of it tucks into a low profile backpack with for snacks and a couple water bottles.

I sleeve my pilot cards and all upgrade cards fit into that. Will have to re-evaluate in 2.0 on how to manage that. Although my tournament tray has room to hold full size cards in it.

When I go to setup, I just use the tournament tray since it's cut perfectly to hold ship bases, my damage deck and pilot cards. I toss all tokens on there too and they won't slide off. Dice and other stuff get dropped into the dice box and transported on top of the tray. EZ.

Plano 3700 Organizer The neat thing is the 3700 Organizers fit perfectly into the Plano Tool Box. I can stack two organizers, but I usually only need one.

A handful of the smaller Plano organizers for tokens.

Some scroll tube for my mat. I think it's an Ultra Pro.

And... a cheap plastic tray that's supposed to go on the bottom of a dish drainer rack. Mine is getting beat up though, and I'm looking to replace it soon.

I was given a maneuver template organizer by a good friend of mine. That thing is an amazing blessing. I no longer need to look around for my templates and the thing acts as a tray for carrying around my stuff. I just need a better way to organize all of the tokens...

Highbridge also makes a template holder and ship board that is sized to match the Feldherr single tray. I use that system plus a feldherr mini bag for tournaments where I just bring what I need to play. For something bigger, the medium or XL bags are my go to (4 and 6 trays respectively).

The Keter boxes are split into factions: Rebel/Resistance, Imperial/First Order, and Scum and Villainy. Each box can hold all the small ships, cardboard, and faction specific upgrades in the top bays. The S&V pulls extra duty by also holding ALL the generic upgrade cards as well. The lower section in all of them hold the larger ships, dials, pilot cards (in their own plastic holder) along with a handful of bases.

The staples tote holds a few foam inserts for the oversized stuff like the Ghost and a few of the Scum large base stuff. It also holds my templates and a couple folded mats. It's not for everyone, but it works for me.... no idea what I'm gonna do with 2.0 XD

I always see people at tournaments putting token in those Daily Pill holders

- I use a small Planco box for fly fishing to hold my list for the day.

I keep extra stuff in my trunk, in case I (or someone else) forgets a template or a dial, ect.

I just use plano boxes to store everything (but the large/epic).

Plano #5 = Tokens #II; stress, shield, damage, evade, focus tokens, mine/bomb markers, miscelaneous tokens, asteroid/debris field markers

Foam pad holds my Gozanti, Rebel transport, both lambdas, a decimator, 1 YT-1300, 1 YT-2400, spare large bases, and the larger maneuvering templates.

I have two 1" binders holding all my upgrade cards (each individually sleeved, then stacked 2 per partition in those 9 slot ultrapro pages), 1 with the print out of the book and stuff for HOAC. I also have 4 small cardboard boxes for my pilot cards (1 imp, 1 reb), 1 for miscellaneous terrain for HOAC and 1 for the other miscellaneous cards.

I have measured it out, and they all fit in a large plastic tote, (though i have yet to test it out to see if they all fit), which i can fit onto a pull cart i have. All i need now is to get 1 more Mat map, and a tube to haul the maps in..

For mat storage, do you guys prefer folding them up? Rolling them up and storing them in one of those shipping tubes, or do you go a little more classy, with one of those rigid like Map/art tubes??

I have a Feldherr Mini Plus and a tournament tray from Cog'o'two, but I haven't figured out a perfect solution for tokens yet.

Right now I have a small tin with different type of arylic tokens, but I might find something better if the ship count goes up and I need more tokens (Target locks have been a problem in the past since you need one specific token).

For cards, the Compact 14-pocket Standard & Mini American has been great, and having to find another solution is the sadest part about second edition.

I have a paper origami box for my damage deck, since I've not gotten around to find and order a deck holder.

When possible, storing mats flat is best. That matters much more for vinyl mats than the mousepad type though.

To bring mine to game night, they actually came with a zippered cloth bag, but it's slightly too short to easily get them inside. If I ever start regularly bringing mine with me, I'd look into the plastic document tubes on amazon. For like $20 they are adjustable with a shoulder strap.

I have the adjustable artist tube from Hobby Lobby, and its pretty good for 2 mats. The shoulder strap wasn't good though, it broke off a while ago. Most game nights I take a single mat in a FFG mat box (rolled up). I'm working now on a solution that has a decent shoulder strap and uses 3 of these: https://www.ultrapro.com/product_info.php?products_id=1464

I like that tube because its clear (I have many mats) so I can see which mat is which. It only holds 1 mat though, unlike the artist tubes where you can roll up 2 together. I think I'm just going to duct tape 3 of those tubes together around a broomstick and work a shoulder strap in somehow.

I've seen mats get crinkled from being stored poorly.

I roll mine up, carry them in a tube, and lay them horizontally when I get home.
