do you put a clear coat over the molotov?

I tried so many varnishes, and none of them keep the chrome / mirror effect
I've tried Vallejo Gloss Varnish, Mig Aqua Gloss Clear and Vallejo Metal Varnish - I selected the last one to protect eveything, it showed best results.
If you know of anything better, I'm interested :)))
Close up pics soon to come! (I need to finish a few ships first)

2x X-Wing themed on WWII Soviet Yak 3 paint scheme:
Lesson learned: aim at lighter colors with higher contrast. Airbursh gave great results. Don't use so much tack for masking ?
Jurassic Park Squad (I messed up the green paint, way too think ? ) .. but you get the idea
Lessons learned: thin layers, don't try to make your airbrush color mix yourself... yet!
I'll do all the droids when I get the chance
Thanks for watching!

Thank you
Yes, I made the decals myself with decal paper and bonding spray by Testors. Just using a regular home printer It's fun to do

precisely why I asked because it seems anything will spoil the effect but then contact with grubby gamer hands would do that too.
then on top of that stuff like a ardcoat will make it have that sticky feel. Right now my final step in all my ships is Mr Super Clear Semi-Gloss Mr Hobby but that will remove the feel for sure.
Failed test. How to delete? Sorry 😕

Experimenting with Crackle Medium on a ship. First attempt: needs bigger cracks
Looks like great pattern for a green crocodile scheme.
