I have a pretty similar Brobot list that I've not tried yet, but I'm Traj Simulating...

OK, seriously, while damage output has dropped from the latter days of 1st edition into the launch of 2nd (Harpoons, TLT, a lot of potential alphastrikers gone). the Kihraxz has received a nice old buff with 3 mod slots, an extra point of hull and native barrel roll. As far as I can tell TIE Bombers seem to be the biggest winners at launch, but the Cartel heavy swarms could quite easily become A Thing™.

You can fit five Cartel Marauders in a standard 200 point list. But with Cartel Executioners at 44 each and Cartel Spacers at 29, it's possible to come up with some cool mixed 5-ship Scum builds. I was a big fan of bolt-on modular Cartel builds when Scum first hit the scene, now seems as good a time as any for a revival.

5 x Cartel Marauders = 200
3 x Cartel Marauders & 2 x Ion Cannon Cartel Spacers = 188 points
3 x Cartel Marauders & 1 x Ion Cannon Cartel Spacer & 1 x Cartel Executioner = 198 points
2 x Cartel Marauders & 2 x Ion Cannon Cartel Spacers & 1 x Cartel Executioner = 192 points

It doesn't leave you with too many points to play with, but it's a fun, flexible build. Add a Crackshot on the Executioner, drop some Inertial Dampeners, Dead Man's Switches or Electronic Baffles into the mix and you've got a punchy build thaty can take some hits and keep on going.

I haven't built any 2nd E squads yet. but I plan to run a version of Trench Run and swap between a Vader list and a Boba list.

I've played against something a bit similar to that, with Fenn & a Zealot instead of two Skulls. It was pretty good. Slave I loadout was very different though.

Care to share the layout, please? :)

Corran Horn w/

- Lone Wolf

- Fire Control System

- R3 Astromech

- Stealth Device

- Proton Torpedoes

Ship Total: 101 Points

and

Luke Skywalker w/

- Supernatural Reflexes

- R2-D2

- Afterburners

- Proton Torpedoes

Ship Total: 99 Points.

List Total: 200 points

This will be the list that I play in tournaments as soon as it's legal to do so. Straight up double aces, both built up as much as possible. Flying a fat Poe Dameron was one of my favorite ships to fly in 1.0, so I figure that I should honor his hit-and-run, flanking style of play with this list. I think that Luke is actually very efficient for costing half a list and is clearly the spiritual successor to 1.0 Poe, but I cannot say the same for Corran simply due to the fact that I haven't put him on the table in 2.0 yet. I'm not sure if Afterburners or Stealth Device is the better pick for him, but I should have a good idea after play-testing tonight. I'm really afraid of proton torpedoes and homing missiles (from bombers and punishers), so I'm hoping that I can arc dodge what I can and If I can't just hide behind the nearest big rock for 5 green dice. Afterburners seems like it could have merit because then I could 5 straight + barrel roll + boost instead of just one or the other, but I really do not know which one will be more efficient for him; especially at the same points cost.

I believe it was...

  • Boba Fett - Intimidation, 0-0-0
  • Fenn Rau - Crack Shot
  • Zealous Recruit

TBH I'd probably use Fearless instead. 0-0-0 should be in every scum list, though, he's non-negotiable. Most auto-include upgrade in the game.

I've been playing around with defenders and gunboats:

  • Rexler /w Juke
  • 2 X Rho (Trick Shot, Advanced SLAM, Proton Torps, Ion Cannon)

Dude, if you're supporting droid rights you've gotta find points for L3 on Lando.

Haha, I felt Humans would be more responsive if a human was supporting them as well.

Here's my first. Posted this in the Arc thread

I came up with this for a Shara build and it will probably be the first list I may fly:

Shara Bey — ARC-170- 53 Veteran Tail Gunner- 4 R3 Astromech- 3 Ship Total: 60

Garven Dreis (X-Wing) — X-Wing- 47 R4 Astromech - 2 Servomotor S-Foils- 0 Ship Total: 49

Jake Farrell — A-Wing - 40 Daredevil - 3 Cluster Missiles - 5 Ship Total: 48

Airen Cracken — Z-95 Headhunter - 36 Expert Handling * Cluster Missiles - 5 Ship Total: 43

Total - 200. and may trade Airen's expert handling for a tactical scrambler for Shara and Keep Airen or Jake behind her. might be better to keep the Expert handling though to make sure he has a shot.

the main goal was to have shara with every other pilot who can either give extra focus tokens or entire actions to each other. Contemplating a similar Norra build in her Arc-170, with Zeb, intimidation, and tac scrambler on her, I just worry she'll be prime target and get focused fired down too quick.

I've been tinkering around with Imperials, and I've been really impressed by the number of inexpensive control options they have. The Empire is brutal, and can quickly turn a dogfight into a torture session. It's an oddly satisfying simulation of their ruthless brutality. Here's what I cooked up:

Captain Feroph (47) - 58

Elusive (3)

Death Troopers (6)

Electronic Baffle (2)

Captain Kagi (48) - 77

Advanced Sensors (8)

Jamming Beam (2)

Darth Vader (14)

ISB Slicer (3)

Electronic Baffle (2)

Major Vermeil (49) - 61

Juke (4)

ISB Slicer (3)

0-0-0 (3)

Electronic Baffle (2)

Total: 196

The trickiest thing is maneuvering the new reapers, but basically each ship denies removal of a certain token. The first Reaper keeps stress (Death Troopers), the second Reaper and the Shuttle keep jam tokens (ISB Slicers). To top things off, all the locks get pulled off of the fragile Reapers and land on Kagi.

Between jamming beam, two white jam actions and a red one, 0-0-0, and Darth Vader, there should never be any green tokens on the board, and locks should be fairly scarce. This really opens up Vader's and 0-0-0's abilities to damage and stress the enemy to death, especially since the Death Troopers keep the stress from ever clearing, so it will just pile up unless they totally scatter, in which case Vermeil chases them down with a calculate from 0-0-0, passive blank-to-hit ability because they're tokenless, and juke, which they don't have anything to modify defense dice with.

This list would make a very bad day for any ace list very quickly. It can mostly deny Alpha Strikes with Jam, Kagi, and an I4 jamming beam. It has enough shields to tank a first-pass bombing run, and then the bombers won't be able to turn back around because they'll probably still be stressed from DT and 0-0-0. I see it as weakest against Swarms, though between Feroph with Elusive, and evade and reinforce actions for all ships, it shouldn't be destroyed too badly.

Got the opportunity to proxy some 2.0 and reached for this first.

I keep seeing Lando on the Crow and, like, I know why he's there but I just don't like it. You burn through the tokens so fast with him there.

I played this once and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!

Strikers are a little less durable without Lightweight Frame, but Sloane makes it hurt less to lose one in the opening exchange because the attacker gets double stressed, and the rest of the squad gains a reroll against that ship. But it also discourages linked actions because any stressed ship allows my strikers to reroll. Admiral Sloane is easily the first target, but Captain Feroph's ability provides enough durability that taking out Sloane is easier said than done. Magnus Grendel suggested Hull Upgrade instead of ISB Slicer, which I think I may try. Basically, it's exactly the kind of list I loved to fly in 1.0, but now it's actually strong!

EDIT: Short battle report I wrote up.
