What Ship Do You Want Most Of All?

Ooh, where to begin? Obviously things like the Venator (large/medium ship with carrier and blue-dice variants), Dreadnought (medium-sized, blue-dice focused ship), and the usual stuff. Otherwise, most of the Rebellion/Supremacy ships would be nice:

The Bulk Cruiser (medium sized, Rebel ship - slow but durable?)

The DP20, now that it is canon - although not sure where it would fit in with the Rebel line-up - they already have a couple of small corvettes.

The CC-7700 Frigate is also canon now (thank you, Tarkin), and giving the Rebels a small ship with Experimental Retrofit would be interesting:

The Liberator-class cruiser was included in one of FFG's other games, and could make another nice medium-sized assault carrier for the Rebels:

For the Empire you have the (canonical) Lancer-class frigate, although that's mostly replaced by the Raider:

LancerFrigate-SWR

And the Strike-class medium cruiser, a medium-sized ship for the Empire that isn't a triangle.

If we're going into post-RotJ era stuff, I'd love to see things like the Endurance-class fleet carrier and Nebula-class Star Destroyer - they look shiny and different.

500?cb=20120425015700 500?cb=20120425020541

So many pretty starships.

Unfortunately(?) the Strike-class medium cruiser would be a small ship at 450 meters long, but the Imperials could really use a general purpose small ship like the Rebels have with CR90s. latest?cb=20060325094724

The Nebula-class Star Destroyer was a ship I really wanted Canonized onscreen, but the Sequel Trilogy has made the New Republic weak/dead.

Voltron

Just think about it before you dismiss the idea

You seriously made me facepalm! My son has been trying to get me to let him do Voltron in my Star Wars D6 game for over a year now.

Start playing the new monsterpocalypse and dig up an old copy of the voltron set for the original game and convert the stats.

MC80 and MC80L retrofits.

An MC80 with Fleet Command, maybe side arc die similar to an ISD-1 or double officer slots?

MC80L fit that can make Liberty title good. All it really needs is ORetro and a 4/3/3/2 shield loadout. Drop the 2nd Turbolaser and give it blue/black AA.

A new MC80 title could be: "If you activated a fleet command during the ship phase, one ship or squadron this round may double the commands effect" or....."if you activated a fleet command you may gain one command token of your choice" 5pts

MC80L: "If you exhaust an officer on this ship, add one die of your choice to your next attack. If you discard an officer, add two die of your choice to your next attack." 8pts

There is the MC80a and Wingless Liberty. I would like to have another Fleet Command option for the Rebels, something to contend with the Cymoon.

If i could only have one ship for the Rebels, i'd choose the Dauntless-Class Cruiser. Was always my favorite design from Rebellion ? Make it a tough, well-shielded medium ship with plenty of firepower but a 1 squadron value and high cost.

MK. I Assault Frigate / Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser.

I feel the closest we are likely to get is the Imperial Support Vessel. I guess I can live with that.

We definitely need some form of the Assault Frigate Mk.1, We have the Mk.2 and Rebels desperately need another medium base ship.

Marauder corvette anyone? It has a nice chasis, could be a rebel small black/red-blue/red arquittens like gunship.

My comrades in #teamvenator have already bombarded this thread, but for real, why don't we have a venator already. IK, clone wars, but the empire used them so yeah. and the arquitens is litterally a smaller venator anyways

Starhawk.

Also Venator, Dornean Gunship, and the Dreadnoughts... but we also need Clone Wars factions!!!

Which Mark I should we use? There is front arc and side arc variants with very different aesthetics. If FFG had a public survey of which Mark I to make I would vote for the Type VI, Rebels have a lot of broadside ships already.

And Aramadia-class thrustships to go with them?

Also, how about some proper stations? Golans, or XQs. Something to add a bit of variety - maybe for campaign only. Acting like ships for hull zones and overlapping, but not moving.

Golans need to be added.

Rework the Station Assault objective to be a pair of Golan Defense Platforms, and by default the stations are Golan Is. The Second Player can decide whether to upgrade the stations to Golan IIs or IIIs with his fleet points.

I would really like to see the MC85 Heavy Cruiser as canonically it was in use by the New Republic during the end of the original trilogy era and would give the rebel alliance a 'huge' ship to match the Imperial's Executor class.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Starhawks if only so we have a canon representation of what they actually look like.

But would it be "huge" it is only 3.5 km long, what is the top end of large? right now we have the ISD at 1.6km long, and the jump to "Huge" is starting (?) at 19km long. So would it be Huge or just the top end of large?

* All lengths come from Wookipeda.

The ISD is about 8 inches long, and if I did my math right the MC85 would be just under 4 inches longer.

I would say that it would be a Large Ship.

Deadly serious: I'll pay real American dollars for a Spaceball One in place of my SSD.

More general answer: I'd love to see the Malevolance make its way to the game.

I have to admit that I had not thought of that, but would be right behind you getting one. Not to replace my SSD, but to supplement it just for the cool factor.

I'd argue that the MC85 would be a "small" Huge ship. The ISD is a big Large ship - it hangs over the edges of the base quite a lot, so is about as big as a Large ship can get. Contrast it with something like the CR90, which doesn't really go over the edge of the Small base. The SSD is a big Huge ship - it goes a long way over the edge of the base in all directions. An MC85 would be big enough to take up most of a Huge ship base, but without going over the edge, perhaps.

The problem with Starhawks is that canonically they were made out of scrapped Imperial starships... suggesting they might not have a common design, but might be a bit patchwork.

FFG should run with this Orkish idea and sell like 10 variants of the Starhawk.
