Automated Campaign Tracker v2.0 (Tyrants of Lothal Added)

By Tvboy, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Edit 10/14: There was an issue with credits not being calculated correctly in the Tyrants of Lothal campaign that has been fixed. If you are having this error, just recopy the 2.0 sheet to your Google Drive and it should be fixed.

PLEASE NOTE IF YOU COPIED THE SHEET ON OR BEFORE 8/27: An error was discovered in Dashboard cell B13 that was incorrectly setting that mission as a side mission for Core, Hoth, Jabbas and Heart of the Empire which was screwing up the mission selection for that row. The issue was pointed out to me quickly and I was able to fix it. If you are having this issue, please just redownload the sheet.

Another note, apparently the sheet does not work in Excel, it only works in Google Sheets and YOU MUST HAVE A GOOGLE DRIVE ACCOUNT to use it. Sorry if this is an inconvenience, but [edit] apparently several of the more advanced functions that are used in the sheet such as =IFS are not available to a majority of Excel users (including myself) and are integral to how the sheet works.

Also since a lot of people have been PMing me to ask about it, I do have a patreon page if you enjoy the tracker so much that you feel inclined to make a donation. Any funds I receive will go back into improving my IA youtube channel.

Features:

  • Features all 7 campaigns as well as allowing for custom campaigns and Edge of Oblivion
  • Only 3 sheets that need to be used, Dashboard, Rebels, and Empire
  • Sheets transform depending on what campaign is being played
  • Drop down menu selections adjust to only show you the missions and upgrades that are available. Quick search for a specific option by just typing into that cell and selecting the option that appears (useful when buying items).
  • Color coded cells that change color when certain things become available or unavailable. Also secret agenda cards are blacked out and can only be seen by clicking on the cell, acting as a spoiler tag to prevent Rebels from "accidentally" seeing them.
  • Contains the rewards for each mission and automatically calculates and displays your total rewards and expenditures, including setup XP for mini campaigns. Also automatically shows you your starting equipment/class card for your chosen class deck.
  • Certain cells will alert you when they need to be updated, such as Bounty tokens and Active Side Missions from Agenda cards
  • Allows for manual entries like extra credits or influence earned
  • Easily accessible on mobile devices by using the Google Sheets app on Android or IOS

Updates:

  • All content from Tyrants of Lothal added
  • Full support for Tyrants of Lothal expanded campaign structure
  • Minor improvements to the Dashboard instructions and footnotes
  • Updated Edge of Oblivion threat levels to match most recent adjustments

It was weird digging into the guts of this thing after not looking at it for almost a year. Half of the functions in there I don't even remember what they mean. There's a reason it took me 4+ months just to finish the initial build way back forever ago.

Here is the previous thread for version 1.4-1.5 if you want to see what people were saying about it back then.

Here's my Edge of Oblivion mini campaign from over a year ago if anyone is wondering what that is.

Here's what it looks like in action:

An error was discovered in Dashboard cell B13 that has been corrected. If you downloaded the sheet before this post was made, please recopy the sheet to your drive so you have the most updated version. Sorry for the mistake.

Also please note that the Sheet does NOT work if you download as an Excel file, and there's no way for met to make that happen because a lot of the core functions that make the sheet work are only available in Google Sheets (that is I only know how to do them in Google Sheets). If you want to be able to access and use the sheet while offline, there are instructions for how to do that here: https://support.google.com/docs/answer/6388102?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en

Hey Tvboy ,

First thanks for all the work! greatly appreciated!

And to make it even better i've got some feedback

While trying to use the mission "breaking point" from the retaliation agenda deck i've found the following bugs

  • In the hidden sheet "calculated data" L15 you have incorrectly used = Empire!$ E $13 instead of = Empire!$ G $13
  • In the hidden sheet "Data" BB89:BB91 there is no mission name for the Breaking point mission. which caused it to not be available in the active side mission dashboard.

Also i've got a question. My first side mission was brushfire. Since my group has completed that mission we have to select another side mission. but when i do i get a "invalid" message (orange triangle) in the that mission. This is only a minor annoyance but i thought that maybe i didnt resolve that mission in the spreadsheet or something like that.

Thank you for this, I probably would not have noticed these for a long time. Turns out the entire BB column was all out of order from me adding in Hondo's and Thrawn's missions and not adjusting things. Both the errors you noted have been fixed in the master 2.0 sheet. If you don't want to reenter all your data, you can just copy the BB: Column from my data sheet into yours and it should work (and also fix the error in your Calculated Data sheet that you pointed out).

As for the side missions showing as invalid after you remove them from the queue, that is just something I have not figured out how to make go away, but know that the rewards from that mission are still being calculated even if the little triangle is there in the mission name. It's just an aesthetic blemish that doesn't impact the work being done in the sheet.

So, I'm a huge fan of your work. I'm curious about a particular functionality for the custom campaign.

Is it possible that when you are in that mode it can actually pull from the existing library of missions?

You have all the missions plugged into the thing already with their bonuses and rewards. So if in custom/custom mini could we have the drop downs give us the whole list (maybe even greys, greens and reds too in case we wanted to weave our own stories out of all of them without being held to the 4 of each from the rebel page?)

great work. love the tracker, as the Coolgrass app i used to use is not been updated in a long while. is there a way to potentially alter the amount of ally (green) missions to 2 and increase the grey missions to 6. ?

I downloaded the spreadsheet, using Windows 7, and all the IFS functions seem to be failing.

Obviously this is almost certainly an issue with my OS, but I thought you would want to know

Which program are you using to open and edit it? As it is currently only supported by google sheets.

Microsoft Excell

Hey @Tvboy ,

I started playing Tyrants of Lothal today, and using your tracker I noticed that the intro mission Call to Action is not generating the right Credits for a mini-campaign.

Win or lose, the Rebels should get 300 credits per hero for that one, but it's giving them 100 credits per hero as if it were a normal side mission and not the mini-campaign.

I think all the other mission slots are working correctly.

Thanks for your work with the spreadsheet - it's such a great help to the community.

Hi again @Tvboy ,

One other thing - it looks like for Tyrants of Lothal campaigns the tracker is also not adding the Extra Credits to the total credits for the Rebels (but this is only happening on some of the missions slots not all)

As an example - the highlighted ones in the screenshot aren't adding the extra creds.

Edit - added some detail to above.
Thanks

Use it in google sheets. That works.

Another note, apparently the sheet does not work in Excel, it only works in Google Sheets and YOU MUST HAVE A GOOGLE DRIVE ACCOUNT to use it. Sorry if this is an inconvenience, but I don't currently have time to figure out why the entire sheet goes completely nuts when you download it as an Excel file.

Thanks @WalkingStuka . I hadn't picked up on that part in the OP

Thanks for bringing these up @conagm87 , I'll get these issues fixed this weekend when I have access to my campaign books.

It seems I have fallen prey to the law of fast, cheap, or good.

Alright, the issues have been fixed. There was a lot of wonky and unfinished algorithms in the Dashboard J column that was messing things up that's been fixed so hopefully all of the credits and extra credits are being calculated correctly now. Just recopy the same sheet from the link.

@conagm87 Just found and corrected another issue in row 14 of the Dashboard, for Tyrants of Lothal it was not awarding the correct credits for a Rebel victory since those missions doesn't award extra credits by default the way the other 2 optional Lothal side missions do. Just letting you know since I know you're actively going through the Lothal campaign.

Thanks for the heads up, and for all your work on this spreadsheet!

I'm still finding obscure bugs tucked away here and there in rarely used cells and correcting them, so if anybody comes across an error, just try recopying the master sheet and the issue may have already been fixed.

I have made another update, it is now on v2.2. You can redownload the updated sheet from the same url in the OP. Importantly, I corrected 2 incorrect mission rewards in Jabbas Realm that were giving Rebels xp instead of credits.

Also since a lot of people have been PMing me to ask about it, I do have a patreon page if you enjoy the tracker so much that you feel inclined to make a donation. Any funds I receive will go back into improving my IA youtube channel.

Hey, great work! I was using 1.2 until yesterday for the core campaign, but today I learned I was a bit behind.

However, I noticed 3 things:

  1. Am I missing something, or is there only 1 slot for unequipped items on the rebel sheet? There used to be 4 slots on v1.2. We have multiple unequipped items, but as they have been purchased, they need to be accounted for somewhere.
  2. Is the Additional Expenses field used anywhere? It doesn't seem to change the amount of credits.
  3. I'm not sure if the calculations on the Under Siege (core campaign) is correct. In our case, the Empire managed to get their 4th token at the end of round 8. If I get the rules correct, this would mean "Imperial Hospitality" is next, heroes get 2xp each, heroes get 100 credits each, empire gets 2xp and 1 influence. However, with no combination of result and bonus can I get the Rebels to have 100 credits and 2xp. I worked around it by giving them a negative credit bonus for now.

But seriously, great work!

@Tvboy this is an impressive amount of work. Looks very cool.

I'm quite interested in running custom campaigns to try to play some of the huge stack of side missions that I've collected and never played. Is there a way to do this using this sheet? Maybe construct a chain of side missions? Branching might be a bit much, but even just setting up the chain would be pretty sweet.

You wouldn't be able to automate it without going into the guts of the sheet, but you can just type into any of the cells and overwrite the formulas with numbers, leaving the campaign type cell empty will leave the rest of the sheet blank and you can input your own values in the Dashboard and it will track XP credits and influence in the rest of the sheet.
