From what I have seen the only thing I have to buy that I don't want are the two Ties in the Core.

I guess it's a different mindset then.

Although I'd rather not get another xwing if it made the core a cheaper product, I still want the core set.

I might not want something that comes with a product, or some part of it, but if I buy that product its because I wanted the sum of the contents enough to justify spending money (even if it's just one component driving up the value *cough* autothrusters*cough*).

Not a completionist thankfully, I didn't like some of the 1.0 EU ships, and also kinda fell behind with the latest few waves. I've since ditched all the scum ships except the Slave I and anything else non-movie. That will be how I collect going forward, supplemented by any cards that look nice from sets that I don't get. For instance, I'd like to eventually get some of the cards from the Reaper and Saw's Renegades packs.

Don't understand me wrong, I don't complain that I need the Core Set. I bought a lot of ships for cheap: Small ships like X-Wings, Ties, E-Wings, HWK etc. for 5€, Ships like Decimator and Resistance Bomber for 10€, Shadow Caster for 15€ and Imperial Raider and Croc for 30€. While I only need the damage deck, the X-Wing is certainly a nice addition to my collection, because the new model is much better than the old one and at the release event I probably will need 4 X-Wings. The Tie fighters on the other hand aren't much better than the old models and chances are high that I won't use them anyway, because I don't plan to buy the Imperial conversion kit. That said, I won't complain, because with the new distribution model of upgrades I am able to play X-Wing without paying a lot.

I spent most of 1.0 as a collector it took me about 3 years before I started going tournaments. I intend to continue collecting the new ships but I want to be selective about the repackaged ships. I will not buy another g1a unless I have too for the cards. Whereas I will gladly buy the new y wing and fangs fighter as the new sculpts offer something new and I know i will use those ships.

Not at all. My X-Wing collection grew needlessly large thanks to painting projects and a desire to remain competitive (I have 12 T-65s), so I'll be spending as little as possible on 2.0 where possible.

I'm actually downsizing, but with release only being two weeks away, I'm considering holding back and packaging my excess ships with the 2.0 upgrades I'm not going to need...

I'll buy all of the OG 3 factions, but I will be a lot choosier with the other factions. Probably won't touch the prequel factions at all.

I'm trying very hard to NOT be a completionist this time around. I'll still be interested in the current 5 factions but don't think I'll get much into the two new ones. but I may change my mind if something there just blows my socks off but I doubt it as I like very little from that era. So far I have pre ordered everything except the tie fighter and tie advance since those aren't new models. Only got the firespray so I'd have a spare to customize (yes, it's an excuse to get the repaint). but I'm struggling with wanting the quick build cards for the imperial ships. I don't want another advance but I may want another tie since I'll be a dial short on the ones I have. maybe I can trade a tie fighter model or two for some imperial threat cards.....or maybe I'll see if I can get them on ebay or something......
