Last night while playing our biggest session yet, (all 8 players), we had a situation arise that had never happened before: A gate was closed while an investigator was still exploring the Other World it led to. With no other open gates leading to that Other World, what happens when it is time for that investigator to move out of the second area of the Other World and return to Arkham? We consulted the rulebook, but couldn't find any mention of this. The group had two different impressions on what the ruling was. One was that the investigator is Lost in Time and Space upon exiting the Other World. The other was that the investigator would merely return to their home space instead. Although the majority thought that Lost in Time and Space was the correct way to go, we were pressed for time, so we went with the quicker solution of returning the investigator to their home space. However, for future games, I'd like to know what we should have done, in case this scenario occurs again.

LiTaS when exiting.
It's in the rulebook. In my first edition manual it's on page 8 in the section on Other World Movement. It's in the paragraph starting "If the investigator is in the second area of the Other World..."

Wow, there it is. Now I see it plain as day. I read that page at least twice but somehow managed to miss that bit each time. FML. Anyways, thank you kindly for pointing it out to me.

Heh... You're welcome. The manual has a way of hiding information it knows you're looking for ;')
