Thrawn and the deathtroopers tower over other models. Almost like they have been molded for Legion. Anyone else find this to be the case.
Thrawn and Deathtroopers
Death troopers are supposed to be really tall I’m not sure why Thrawn is though.

He's tall, according to his description in books.
Taller than Vader and Zeb
He's not just your ordinary admiral, he's a Grand admiral ?
According to my research Vader is around 6' 2" and Thrawn should be around 1.8 meters of 5' 11". Also Thrawn and the death troopers are basically standing upright whereas Vader is hunched over, so maybe you could argue from that it isn't too bad lol?
It’s pretty bad. The troopers aren’t just taller, they’re “bigger.” The scale is clearly wrong.
It'still clearly not as bad as general Weiss, or should I say Gimli!!! (Someone could argue it'still the AT-ST size that is off ...)

Yes, the 2x3 figures are known to not be in scale. You can see that from the driver of the SC2-M Repulsor Tank as well as from the Bantha's rider.
Edited by a1bertYa the Death Troopers should be tall, but leaner than the regular Storm Troopers. These ones just seem to be bigger all around.
Clearly this is ded gaem.
I think they may have got a new set of sculptors perhaps?
They are close to being Legion scale but for the bases.
Edited by buckero0Figures have been bigger than usual since Heart of the Empire at least. Look at Jarrod, he's pretty massive next to... say, a Stormtrooper. I think it's obvious that FFG changed sculptors and/or manufacturer at some point.
FFG switched to an all-3D design at some point, which may or may not co-incide with the slightly different scale (for more detail?).
The Tress sculpt is really good~ My favorite of the new lot.
Yes, the bases are larger too.
IA/Legion crossover cards coming soon?

Wow. The difference is really small though, small enough to not notice without actually comparing one pressed against another. Without measuring I would say 0.5mm, which could be explained by "calibration".
Being slightly bigger is just a benefit to me. Easier to paint. (I should have the figure packs tomorrow, so more painting ahead.)

Absolutely.
In fact, I'm about halfway through painting the significantly smaller scaled Descent right now, so this wave was a breeze.

usually the Legion stuff has arms disconnected for different poses available, so I don't know if they will be immediately compatible. Thrawn would be fine if they wanted a mid-level commander for the imperials.
This seemingly size-increase in IA models might actually make purchasing some Legion figures tempting for varying poses (now that the latest IA figures will not be dwarfed by Legion figures) ... hey wallet why are you running away from me?!? Stop!! Comeback!!

I only noticed when trying to fit them into a 3D printed base a fellow player gave me at Gencon to use on my Officer. I don't even see what the big deal is. They look great! Obviously the company has evolved, which means changes to production. Meh. Just keep making the game! Lol
