Legacies vs Way of the Force

By Spartan_Dude, in Star Wars: Destiny

Hey guys and dolls,

I'm a bit of a casual player and was wondering which set is better to concentrate on, Legacies or Way of the Force. I should say that I have a fairly decent Awakenings - Empire collections as well as all the starters and a copy of Rivals (hopefully getting a second copy soon). I imagine both sets have good and bad cards like always but do either have any major staples that I should go for.

PS. I did open two packs from Legacies and managed to pull both Tarkin and Grand Moff.

Either really. Legacies may have a slightly better card set. If you don't have much of either, you could just buy the singles needed to play a deck you are interested in playing.

Depends entirely on what you're looking for (wotf has some disgusting vechiles)

But your best bet is honestly just to buy singles

I'm voting on collecting legacies. Get the first sets after they go out of rotation and the prices come down. As much as I love this game, I'm Beginning to doubt It's life span. Inconsistent releases. Over a year ago someone wanted a character from one of the books. I jokingly said not until we've gotten our 5th Luke. It's no longer a joke! I'm a big Star Wars fan but when Bala-tik is better than Darth Vader, we have a problem. The single elimination or Strength of schedule as it's called is driving people away from tournaments.

A year ago I had high hopes for this game. I'm now seeing less and less players. FFG better step it up.

Well we've still got plenty of other options for Luke.

Luke Skywalker - Rebel Pilot (Blowing up the DeathStar)

Luke Skywalker - The Chosen One (Confronting Vader)

Luke Skywalker - New Born Baby (End of Episode 3)

Luke Skywalker - Not Actually An Orphan (Just got his hand cut off)

Luke Skywalker - Way Too Into His Sister (Kissing Leia on Hoth)

On the Hoth has a better ring

So I'm considering doing tournaments on the side (Imperial Assault is my main game, so just occasionally)- how exactly are the tournaments structured?

If I was doing a tournament it would be best of 3 and cut to top. Strength of schedule just leaves a bad taste. There has to be a better way

Swiss rounds playing a single game. Depending on the number of players there could be a top cut (usually to 4 or 8 except for the biggest tournaments). Top cut varies, sometimes it’s single elimination, sometimes it’s best of three. TO will let you know in advance which it is usually.
