If FFG was to someway change the standard ship pack to include random pictures and pilot names but retain the abilities of pilot at that cost (random like the other unique Games)

would this be good or bad?

So, if I understand this right, we would have a 29 point (1.0 price) pilot with Wedge’s ability, but I could have one named “Jax Barloff” And you could have one named “Bax Booper”?

Personally, I think any bit of randomness would be bad. It would encourage people to buy, trade (and possibly steal) the "rare" cards. Just make it all the same and play the game! I don't want pokemon in the different cards (gotta catch them all).

I got 2 games in tonight and I realize I am utterly rusty. Between vacation and other games waiting for 2.0, I have forgotten how to fly. I kept landing on rocks and mis-judging distances.

Rules question: If an Ion Cannon hits Iden Versio with 2 hits, and she uses her ability, what happens?

One Proton Bomb utterly turned around my first game tonight. I was going down hard, but that bomb took out 3 Tie Fighters!

Three Tie Bombers and 1 Tie Punisher is scary.

Iden cancels damage, not results

So you ion normally after she cancels the 1 damage it does

2nd Ed is fun and an impossibly MASSIVE improvement overall, but in removing some of the abusable mechanics of 1st Ed it has had the unfortunate side effect of making variance hit harder

So let's not add rng to the packs too, eh?

She's spent her charge to prevent 1 point of damage and takes an Ion token.

Depends. If pilot abilities could not be repeated, it would be weird, but OK.

If this meant you could bring three Luke Skywalker pilot abilities (for instance), it would be broken AF.

I was going to say "no" but after reading this and realizing the implications beyond my simple instinctive knee-jerk reaction, I must say "oh heck no. what the flip!"

My own reasoning, it would trigger bad tendencies for me... I can't buy CCGs as I start buying to get one particular card. Yes, I realize the math saying it's not likely to happen, but I do it anyway. Over, and over again. It may not even be a good card, I'm just doing it for the artwork.

I could absolutely see different pictures for cards! But not names. And definitely not more than 2. One picture featuring the ship, one featuring the named or generic pilot. But if you start getting towards upgrades doing the same thing, and rarity in pilot cards... that's where I get a problem. 50/50 chance to get a pilot or ship I could do (and would gladly trade for) but not more. The game has some Visual aspect to it so memorizing all the different alt arts is tricky already, let alone all the 3rd party stuff.

Actually, thinking on it... I'd be super pleased if FFG would just double sided the pilot cards so you could have those two different styles of picture, one on each side! Then everyone gets them!

If they include Ewok names like Kettch, I'm in.

Or just give us a Lt. Kettch pilot that can copy other pilot's abilities/initiative that aren't already fielded in your squad. Since anyone can be Kettch. #WeAreKettch.

Uh, I think you'll find Lieutenant Kettch will have the ability "While you perform an attack, the defender rolls one fewer defence die" and he'll be I6.

Can't tell you why I think that, but I'm pretty sure.
