Ooh, that’s an interesting thought - they needn’t necessarily be force upgrades, there could be equipment that’s so inherently evil than only dark side users will use it.
Also, there no point restricting them to certain factions when they’re already restricted to dark side users.
That reminds me - I’m just up to the point in Clone Wars (I’m rewatching ready for the new season) where
