While I understand the business side, what I don’t get is why they don’t do “current list of card” rotations. Like pick X amount of cards from each set and make that the current “era”. Then swap it a few times a year giving players new and interesting card pools with the sets they already have and giving us new expansions as a way to introduce new mechanics into the game.

One of the good things on Magic the Gathering and it's longevity is that on casual nights, you can play with any kind of cards throughout history. It makes really interesting meta as there are counters for everything and very rarely you can find something to be TOO MUCH. And you have so many cards to choose from. I kind of expect the same from Destiny in future... that's why I bought the Awakening starters yesterday ;-)
