Birmingham Regionals
Top 2 lists, apologies for one being upside down.
2 ship represent.
I’m here on the scene at the UK Nationals final for match day reporting.
James Parker vs Sam Ledwich
Both players are well known for strong showings at prior regionals and nationals, so they aren’t here by fluke.
Sam has the bid and will be choosing initiative.
Sam elects for first and chooses James’ Contested Outpost.
With only two activations vs James 4(+SA), it’s the logical choice to maximise his BT Avenger.
Both players indicated a preference for a real game, so fingers crossed this won’t be a slow roll 6-5.
Deployment complete, hands shaken; glhf.
Sam’s Carrier and BTA start at speed 2 and 3, to James’ 1.
Game on!
Round 1 BTA banks it’s Squadron token, and leaps forward at three. Carrier accelerates to 3 to join the fight.
James’s Gozanti gets its sibling’s comms net token to jump to three to try and block the BTA.
You’ll all be pleased to know the National rulers are not the right size.
Morna jumps forward to ACC HIT HIT the gozanti.
Jendon attacks with her a second time but missed the ACC, and the attack is Scattered.
Mauler gets his HIT to put the Gozanti on one health.
Cienna with the final attack, which is a HIT! Scatter burnt.
Edited by TheCallumOne does not simply block a BTA Avenger.
Steele and the Carrier attack James’ flagship, and the Carrier jumps into the station.
James uses his Strat Advisor to let Sam go again, and BTA finishes the blocking Gozanti!
This is not going to be a long game.
Can a 17 hull Motti RBD BTA survive three ISD II hits?
If it can Sam wins. If it cant James wins.
Edited by GinkapoAm loving the traditional Eagle squadron joust! And the commentary style Cal! Thank you!

But also how quickly Sam kills James’ Mauler. If Cienna kills Mauler in one hit, that’s a lot more damage on Motti.
Sam’s capital ships are now in the Kill Zone of the double ISD 2s! Or is it the other way round?!
James’ remaining Gozanti plinks it’s lasers at the Carrier.
The first ISD2 activates and is forced to split fire at both ISDs with Gunnery Teams from the front arc. Decent rolls on both hits, the reliability of the ISD2 coming through.
The second activates and another set of solid rolls, all damage and one accuracy, and with no ECM, Sam’s ships are limping.
End of Round 2

I find the lack of ECM disturbing.

Have there ever been a set the correct length?
Start of 3, BTA activates but only puts 6 damage cards on James’ flag.
With a nav command though, can he escape around the back?
