it's called a box

It all fits in a shoe box???

Some of us have shoes larger than the average bear...

Unceremoniously chucking every 1.0 card, dial, and token into as small of a box as I can and storing it... right up until 2.0 Epic is revealed then I'll recycle said box and be done with it! (unless there's a big 1.0 shadow market around at the time then I'll gladly sell off my rubbish so it may be someone else's treasure)
My current situation is how to adapt my current ship carrying system to 2.0...
I worked through all of it at my FLGS on X-Wing night.
Gave several fixable models, several carry cases, and a lot of tokens, to anyone who wanted them. Far better they might be used again.
The cardboard will be recycled once 2.0 is here, as will the dials (except possibly some TIE Fighter dials as they haven't changed and I might use an early swarm). I got two deck boxes to put the old pilots in. The upgrades are still in their binder as I come to the realisation that I don't need them or the thing that holds them anymore.
It will all be recycled or given away at some point I think. Should be left with 50 odd Imp and Scum ships, and a few bases. Then the great unboxing will begin. Hopefully I can be a bit more organised this time.
Not sure if I'll buy every ship. I had several that barely got touched in 1.0.
I have had a lot of fun with 1.0 (despite the capability of some broken combos) so I will definitely keep everything to pull out a nostalgic 1.0 night with a bunch of friends from time to time, or if I get bored with the 2.0 vanilla and need to run something crazy like "Firestorm special", or just plain-old "Triple-x7-defenders" against something equially crazy OP stuff like pre-faq "Parattani" or "Dengaroo".
I already have all the cards sorted in binders, so I will simply keep them as is and start a new set of binders for 2.0.
The tokens are also already organised and will be keept that way, and all I need to do is take all the cardboard and the dials out from my "Feltherr" boxes, and put in another storage box, ready for when I need to use them.
Edited by ScienciusMy 1st edition stuff is currently in one big UltraPro folder for the cards, one big box and one very small box for the tokens/damage decks/dice etc, with the ships in a bunch of small Planos. I'm making a clean start for 2nd edition. I already have a new big box for the game components and a new folder for all the cards. All I need to do with the 1st edition stuff is put it in a big storage box and shove it to the back of the garage.

Personally, I'm going to sort all my first edition cards, templates, bases, dials and tokens by type, faction etc, seal them in plastic bags along with a copy of the rules, faq and a handwritten note, lock them in a waterproof strongbox and drive out into the country.
When I'm sufficiently far from civilisation, I'll follow the path by the tumbledown stone wall to the old oak tree at the corner of the field, and take thirty paces west from it's base.
At that spot, I'll dig a hole five feet deep, place the strongbox in the hole and bury it, marking the spot with a stone from the wall.
And then I'll wait.
Don't forget to draw out a crude map with a big X on it.

Guilty. 15 here (in US sizes)

Well, JasonCole did hit the nail on the head.
And yeah, all the cardboard, cards, and dials unique to 1.0 fit. My collection was basically “one of each core set, one of each expansion sans that ep8 bomber plus 6-8 duplicates for ships I had to have more of”
I traded away my core set t70, t70 expansion, and hotr “Black one” t70 since the GenCon announcement for the new factions.... and got a bunch of First Order for that sweet conversion box.
4 factions is plenty for me - maybe too much. We will see how releasing goes.
I spent a couple hours and bagged all dials and bases together by ship, stacked the cards by type and pilot, and stored them in a card box.
Then I promptly dropped that box and all the stuff went everywhere
So now I have everything just sort of shoved in the box.

It's the litmus test for whether a conversion kit is financially a sound investment.

I'll see you in Mexico. I'll expect the boat to be ready.
...my wife is asking me the same kinda thing, except it's more like, "what are you gonna do with all this space-boats stuff?"
...she has little to no idea about 2.0. Ah boy.

Space-boats? YOU TELL THAT WOMAN THAT SPACEFIGHT IS SERIOUS BUSINESS AND IS NOT TO BE TRIFLED WITH then you should probably put a pillow and blanket on the couch or something because she may hit you

PM me & I will happily take them off the 'burn pile'!!

Dump everything into a shoebox and set it on fire (ships excepted, of course)? Leaving it as is, and taking the opportunity to start over? I'm curious, as I haven't decided on which way I'm going to go yet.
Here’s what I’m doing with my box of 1.0 stuff.
I'm just moving it from one room to another "lower" room.
The upgrade cards are in their own binder which can't be used in 2.0
pilot cards in 3 duo tangs and will be filed away
HOTAC is popular here so all will be kept accessable.
Starting fresh with 2.0 in a new filing system
Threw everything I don’t need for NOVA in a plastic tote... and now I realize I need a defender dial for hunger games. -.-
my plan is to eventually sort it and keep it around for more casual games at home.
also looking to unload my FO and resistance ships.
The alt arts I’m planning on converting to 2.0 by printing 2.0 content on some paper and slipping it over in the sleeve.
Still unsure what to do about my Curled Paw templates. Probably going to get a new set for Christmas this year.
Archiving it. I’m getting brand new folders for 2.0, and a lot of the old 1.0 stuff that won’t be going forward are already in folders separate from the models, templates etc. As such, the folders will stay on the side in case someone decides to get nostalgic....but they will be under my 2.0 folders.
I have given away all my 1.0 upgrade cards to some new players locally who aren't ready to convert to 2.0 yet. The other stuff has been dumped in a big cardboard box addressed to my fire pit.

One mistake. The rock you use to mark the spot must look like it doesn't belong there.
I'll meet you in Mexico with some deep sea fishing gear we can use on your boat.
