Feed on emotions?

Greetings, exalted ones.

As I put the finishing touches on this weekend’s session, I’m a bit stumped.

What - if anything - would you do mechanically for a Big Bad that “feeds” off of fear, anger, hatred, etc? Would you just make that narrative fluff, add upgrades and/or boosts after “feeding,” something else?

You could use any negative result on a Fear check to provide boosts, upgrades, or even additional Force dice...

Edit: they could even recover Strain on any Threats generated by the PCs, stuff that would normally be applied as Strain on the PCs.

Ooh...additional Force dice would be nasty, since the Big Bad is starting with 3.

I like!

What whafrog said. Threats add boosts to the big bad's rolls. Despairs can upgrade Force Rating for a round or upgrade his next check

Follow-up: If said “psychic vampire” manipulated the characters’ greatest fears by way of making them believe their fears are happening, and one had a fear of losing limbs...would you apply a crit by fiat (removing it when the illusory fear has ended, of course), roll for it as normal using the real stats of the weapon/object applied to the illusion, or something else?

(No, I wasn’t watching It when planning out this session. Why do you ask? ? )
