Constructive criticism appreciated. It feels like it should be able to put out a pretty solid amount of damage.

I'm a little unsure on Benthic. He'll want to to perform a Focus action almost all the time to pass a token to Edrio, so it'll be hard to get available actions to Target Lock for FCS or Gonk. Saw goes a long way towards making up for that action economy, but if you're going to be focusing anyhow, perhaps Perceptive Copilot would work better, only two points more, and it won't cost you damage. It'd also be nice to use the full flexibility of the U-Wing's stall, so I tend to like the thought of Advanced Sensors. Going with that load-out on Benthic (AdvS, PerCo instead of Saw, FCS, Gonk,Shield) leaves 9 more points for the list. I keep thinking Leia would be cool, but so would crew R2-D2, Jan Ors, or upgrading some of the droids to R5 Astromechs.

With Edrio, I really want Inertial Dampeners. Only 1 point, and if you prep him with focus, he'll still get a bonus action before he stalls. That could help set up some nice Torpedo and R1 shots.

Good points. I actually just completely overlooked the Perceptive Co-pilot, he does feel like a better fit than Saw there, and with him gone, I don't feel the need to try to shoe-horn Gonk in to try to get the occasional extra shield point....which then frees up the points for the Adv. Sensors. I had originally had those (Sensors) on there, but then took them off because I was running out of points.

So that gives me this:

Benthic Two-Tubes (47)
Advanced Sensors (8)
Perceptive Copilot (10)
Shield Upgrade (*)
Pivot Wing (0)

Edrio Two-Tubes (45)
Inertial Dampeners (1)
Proton Torpedoes (9)
R3 Astromech (3)
Munitions Failsafe (2)
Servomotor S-Foils (0)

Wedge Antilles (52)
Marksmanship (1)
Proton Torpedoes (9)
R3 Astromech (3)
Munitions Failsafe (2)
Servomotor S-Foils (0)

I think that's definitely better. What about spending those last 2 on Jyn Erso? I could convert one of those foci to an evade if I didn't think I was going to be able to get a shot that round...worth it, or just save for bid?

clarification

Jyn seems good to me. Consider: Edrio with a focus token can take two more actions. Perhaps he already has a Lock and doesn't need to change. Perhaps he doesn't want to barrel roll. A second Focus token is OK, but an Evade would probably also be good. It also probably helps Benthic if Edrio gets blown out pretty early, since he could Perceptive Copilot into Focus/Evade for himself.

You can also get a bid point back by switching Shield for Hull Upgrade on the U-Wing. Personally, I think it'd be worth it.

Are you positive these Munition Failsafes are going to be of their use? I guess I'd much rather have Wedge's Talent upgraded to a Predator (getting a shot at turning a blank into something useful is imho worth this one more point compared to turning a hit into a win-more hit...) and perhaps include Jyn for various gimmicks you can pull off using her.

No, I'm not positive the Failsafes will be worth their points...but I was unable to find something worth replacing them with. Upgrading Wedge to Predator seems like a good use for at least one of them. Thanks!

Your ships do have a lot of upgrades on them. Have you considered removing some and upgrading Wedge to Luke? Maybe something like this:

Benthic Two-Tubes — U-Wing 47
Fire-Control System 3
Perceptive Copilot 10
Jyn Erso 2
Pivot Wing 0
Ship Total: 62
Edrio Two-Tubes — X-Wing 45
Proton Torpedoes 9
R3 Astromech 3
Servomotor S-Foils 0
Ship Total: 57
Luke Skywalker — X-Wing 62
Instinctive Aim 2
Proton Torpedoes 9
R2-D2 8
Servomotor S-Foils 0
Ship Total: 81

Certainly worth looking into - I'm interested in seeing how the force powers play out. I'll probably try both out to be honest, and see which I like better.

And yeah, I think I'm conditioned by 1e to upgrade everything, it seems like 2e will go away from that some...so we'll see how that adjustment plays out.

Thanks!

Totally get it. I think 5X and 4X+Sheathipede at the end of 1st ed showed me how powerful raw numbers can be (and my buddy who ran 4X+Sheathipede is going for 7 TIE for his first tournament list). I think a 4-ship rebel list is going to be my first try out in 2nd ed.

Ran this yesterday:

Luke and the Tube brothers

(62) Luke Skywalker
(8) R2-D2
(0) Servomotor S-foils
(2) Instinctive Aim
(9) Proton Torpedoes
Points 81

(45) Edrio Two Tubes
(0) Servomotor S-foils
(9) Proton Torpedoes
Points 54

(47) Benthic Two Tubes
(0) Pivot Wing
(10) Perceptive Copilot
(8) Advanced Sensors
Points 65

Total points: 200

With his brother feeding him focus, Edrio often ran with 1-2 focus tokens and a Lock, so no need for an astromech there
Luke can take care of himself, taking Locks most of the time and using Force instead of Focus
Benthic with just a Focus every turn is actually quite tough to take down ?

I have thought about using different versions of this squad:

Luke Skywalker (X-wing)

Instinctive Aim

Proton Torps.

R5 Astromech

Servomotor S-Foils

Total: 78

Edrio Two Tubes (X-wing)

R4 Astromech

Inertial Dampners

Proton Torps.

Servomotor S-Foils

Total: 57

Bethnic Two Tubes (U-wing)

Perceptive Co-Pilot

Advanced Sensors

Pivot Wing

Total: 65

Squad Total: 200

Also maybe sub R4 for Jyn on the Bethnic, or switch Inertial Dampners and R4 for a R3 Astromech.

Overall I just like this squad because all the mods (force and extra actions). Plus you can finally fly Luke and still have a good squad. I can't wait to get my Conversion Kits on the 13th.

P.S. This is my first post!

I can't even imagine owning 5 Sheathipedes, let alone flying all of them together. What a weird list!

Man this one seems pretty solid too. I think the only way for me to really nail it down, will be to fly them all a few times, and see which one works best.

Thanks!

I meant 5 X-Wings or 4 X-Wings + Sheathipede in 1e.

But the sight of 5 Sheathipedes on the board would be worth it if for no other reason than comedic relief.

Also, if you wanted to branch out into a 4 ship rebel list, here's my take on the Two Tubes Bros. :

Arvel Crynyd — A-Wing 36
Intimidation 3
Ship Total: 39
"Dutch" Vander — Y-Wing 42
Expert Handling *
Ion Cannon Turret 6
R3 Astromech 3
Ship Total: 53
Edrio Two-Tubes — X-Wing 45
Inertial Dampeners 1
Servomotor S-Foils 0
Ship Total: 46
Benthic Two-Tubes — U-Wing 47
Fire-Control System 3
Perceptive Copilot 10
Jyn Erso 2
Pivot Wing 0
Ship Total: 62

Yeah sorry, totally misread your post. I went back and reread it, and it makes sense. Sorry for the confusion ?
