One War of Independence.
The War of 1812 was fought for different reasons. You didn't grab any of Canada as you had hoped to do, we burned the White House, you won the Battle of New Orleans and the whole thing petered out into a draw. We British never had any intention of reimposing our rule over the United States.

I dream of an re-balanced Armada with a more streamlined squadron phase, and perhaps enhanced ramming & boarding rules. So yeah, definitely looking forward to Armada 2.0 as long as it doesn't result in them dumbing down the game.

That sounds like something someone with the intention of reimposing their rule over the United States would say.

Have you noticed that we've already taken over your TV chat shows?
It all makes sense now. It wasn't the Russians, it was the British secret service that manipulated the elections to make Trump president.

Ehhhhhhhhhh.
It's not always about territory.
Up to that point the US was seen as being fairly weak and ineffectual. It's a war that proved the US was willing to assert it sovereignty on an in international scale and a start a war to back that up.
That's an assertion of independence in the afterbirth which is in a way a war of independence.

By 1812, America had the best credit and the British also feared the rapid rise of our naval engineering and budding industry. Luckily, as Bismarck said, the most influential and important piece of the diplomatic puzzle of the late 19th and early 20th century is America spoke English.” Despite our recent head of state, who is both ignorant and self reported to be both unread and watch TV until very early in the morning, our “special relation” is still special, has almost alway has been special (minus the attack on Egypt and our recent spying, and our very strong brotherhood is much appreciated by the majority of those of us on this side of the pond and will continue to endure.
Cheers mates.

(Didn't the old EU invent them specifically because of this exact issue within the actual lore?)
YES
It's also Canon, bring us the Lancer-class Frigates FFG!

We almost had a Round 3 in 1861 because of the Trent Affair.

I mean the game works just fine but considering the quality that some commanders provide compared to others and then the worse commanders are more expensive?
Also two speed ships should not be a thing (SSD excluded)!
Well I sort of want a Star Trek game using the Armada movement system, but I would change the speed dial to an engine dial where it can be reverse, stop, 1/4 impulse, 1/2 impulse, 3/4 impulse, and full impulse. (R, S, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, F)
We use fleet building sites instead of upgrade cards, as it saves space and time. With a growing list of card errata, the upgrade cards become less important to have out, so I’d be all for a proper FFG app that did all this and moved us into the modern age for upgrades. This would also allow a more fluid rebalancing of points and costs which to me is the one thing Armada really needs. There are so many naff upgrades now that need formal errata to fix and yet it’s always clumsy when it’s via separate documents that players have to carry with them and remember. A digital app would make this a breeze and make so much more newbie friendly.
Edited by Jambo751.5 - digital app!!! That's all we need to keep the game in a good shape for a long time.
The point cost is the only problem I can see to this wonderful game (ship, upgrades and squadron).
The squadron game could be change at the same time just by adjusting their cost. Intel or all aces that make a "blob" around them should receive a point boost. The same is true for the fact that aces (because of their defence token) sould be less cheap in comparaison to generic.
