Lie in Ambush is my other designed card. Hope everyone likes it. Should certainly be interesting.

I wonder which of these you could put into a list dedicated to just cheezing free points. :P

Definitely the card that has me thinking the most! I love the potential to shake things up!

I've been running a scum VP manip list for a while now and it works really well. Hondo fits like a glove.

To do that, you'd have to run a Rebel list with Saska to bring in Hondo, no? Not sure if that's worth trying to march him across the board.

Yeah, that seems a bit much considering you could already get the 5 points. So you have to Run Saska to get those extra 2 points...

Oh snap idk how I totally spaced on that card being rebel only. :(

dammit so did i

To be fair though the combo still technically works, and it would generate a 9pt swing for your side;

+5 for Smuggler's Run

+2 for Hondo

-2 to your opponent because of Hondo

How viable this is in practice is a different matter altogether...

Isn't Lie in Ambush non-unique only? Unless you mean without it.

The points I'm listing was in response to @Rogue Dakotan suggesting using Smuggler's Run on Hondo, which means you'd have to run Saska to get Hondo into a Rebel list, AND wouldn't be able to put Lie in Ambush on him anyway because Smuggler's Run is already attached to him, as well as him being unique.

Well if you're crazy enough to use Saska might as well also bring in a Bantha and use it as a meat shield for Hondo's journey to the deployment zone :P

What exactly means pays you 2 VPs?

Paying VPs is a combination of spending VPs (which we have rules for already) and the other player gaining the equal amount. (And you cannot spend more than you have.)

You can expect to find the definition in the rulebook or rulesheet of the associated expansion.

Ah, but then you can't use beast tamer to push it along, so you'd have a hard time getting around it.

This Hondo Smuggler's Run deal is getting worse all the time...

If you have Saska in your team just to Smuggler's Run a Hondo.. you're probably not gonna win often :p

I feel like you're right, but let's play this out for a second;

You need to spend 13pts to run Saska, Hondo with Smuggler's Run, so you have 27pts to mess with. Could you actually pull it off if you used something beefy with Lie in Ambush to essentially deep strike in a unit like eRangers to provide a crossfire to sneak Hondo in? Maybe the eEchos to keep the costs down. They hit like a truck up close anyways, and having it timed with cards like Ready Weapons or Grenadier in your hand could make for a brutal attack when they drop in and activate. Even Element of Surprise.

Just messing with Tabletop Admiral;

Saska

Hondo

Hera

2x eEcho

3x Alliance Smuggler

Lie in Wait

Smuggler's Run

I mean, it's not like I'm saying ^this is how you win your next Premier tournament, but it kind of covers the bases. No Gideon/C-3P0 in case you get counter-infiltrated. Your smugglers can camp a terminal and run pick-up-and-deliver objectives, while Hera moves in with Saska/eEcho to give Hondo cover while you drop in the other eEcho when the timing works out towards the end of Round 2.

It'll just need Command Card work to set up some good plays, but obviously On the Lam and Opportunistic for Hondo to get him to where he's going. At the very least this is some good jank, ESPECIALLY if you make them think you're going for the deployment zone with Hondo, but don't?

Just to be silly, Lie in Wait may be the first card that can actually break the game:

Lie in Wait

Darth Vader w/Driven by Hatred

2x AT-DP

Emperor Palpatine

(But seriously, great card Daniel! ; )

Non of those units can use Lie in Ambush.

Yeah while they don't work (nor does the Ranco-ambush ? ), I do think Ambush is going to change the game radically - much more so than Doubt.
